People have to travel to the US for reasons other than "want". All the tech conferences are in the US, and that's the only reason I find myself there. Some folks can only weasel out of attendance so many times before it affects their roll.

My work has offered to everyone the option to opt out of any travel to the US.

Sometimes you need to transfer there to go somewhere else.
