Mbin is the best at communicating with Mastodon, as it basically has full microblogging functionality. The only problem is that it's hidden away in separate feeds, so it's easy to forget about.

PieFed does more than Lemmy in order to communicate with Mastodon (by supporting unofficial Mastodon groups, a.gup.pe), but it remains mostly separated from the microblogging sphere. I imagine once Mastodon gets official group support Piefed will be quick to support it. :)

Yeah I used kbin when kbin.social was still up and noticed that the whole microblogging thing was a bit hidden. But that is super exciting. Also now I know the whole deal with a.gup.pe (was wondering if this is official or just a kind of a community effort).

Might have to give piefed a try too - I keep seeing more and more accounts posting from piefed.social :)

I cannot recommend PieFed enough!

It does look appealing, I just had my heart broken when kbin.social died and defaulted back to my lemmy account. But PieFed has been there for quite some time now!

There are also at least two active developers, so I'm pretty sure it won't end up like Kbin. I was also on kbin.social back in the day, was sad to see it go!

Indeed, I'm glad Mbin lives on! And that's good to hear and very promising. Should never depend on a single person :(
