I was planning to take a sabbatical year and to help me with the expenses I wanted to rent my house, as I live in a very touristic area.

I don't want to use airbnb anymore, so, is there any European alternative

Just so you know short term lets on Airbnb or anything like it is a pain to make work if you're not in the area. You need people to check the property and fix any issues between each stay as well as clean it. Managing this remotely is a pain in the arse.

You'll get less money but it'll be much less work with lets that last months instead of days. The other option is a management company, that will let it for you, but then you also get much less money and they can do all sorts crap to your place in order to create more "bedrooms".

yes I know, I'm so conflicted about everything. also I'd prefer to long rent my house due rental crisis and housing "shortage" (so I can help a family with a fair rent) but I'm very worried about tenant not paying and/or not leaving. it's my only house and I'd rather not becoming homeless because of dishonest people :/
