President Donald Trump spent early Tuesday night making desperate phone calls and blasting Fox News before midterm election results came in.

“I have the ultimate power — it’s called ‘veto,’” President Trump told CBS News in a phone interview before polls first began to close in some states. Already, Trump appeared to make excuses for a potentially massive Republican loss.

Trump also called the Financial Times, assuring reporter Edward Lucas that the U.S. has no immediate plans to strike Iran, the Middle East country Trump started a war with in February.

Trump had a particular grudge against Fox News Tuesday night, texting commentator Greg Gutfeld about his disdain for liberal Fox News commentator Jessica Tarlov.

I'm just happy he's suffering.

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.org 109 points 3 days ago (3 children)
[–] im_fine_sandy@nord.pub 60 points 3 days ago (5 children)

No way. I want to watch him and his cronies squirm in court first. He can die after that.

[–] Feidry@sh.itjust.works 59 points 3 days ago (4 children)

I don't care about making him suffer. There's been enough suffering because of him. I just want him to die and be rid of him for good.

[–] sexy_peach@feddit.org 28 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Same, also I don't trust americans to not elect him again.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Theoretically, he can't run fir a third term

[–] gdog05@lemmy.world 38 points 3 days ago

Theoretically he can't do basically any damn thing He's done so far.

[–] SmoothLiquidation@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If he does, I hope Obama enters the primary.

[–] orclev@lemmy.world 12 points 3 days ago

While it would be hilarious to watch the conservatives tie themselves into knots trying to figure out a way to make it illegal for Obama to do that while also making it fine for Trump that would ultimately be a very bad thing.

First it would add legitimacy to Trumps run, not that a lack of that would stop him, but why hand him free ammunition.

Second it would massively energize the Republican base, because while some may be tired of Trump, they absolutely loath Obama and would vote in large numbers for Trump just to deny Obama any possible chance of winning.

Third, Obama burned a lot of bridges during his two terms and is very much a figure head of the old guard Democrats that are just now losing their grip on the DNC to the actual progressives in the party. Bringing Obama back would be a blow to the progressive wing of the party that we most desperately need in power. Further a lot of Democrat voters soured somewhat on Obama, particularly in his second term, I'm not convinced having him on a ballot would bring more Democrats to the polls than the Republicans it almost certainly would.

You're a better person than I. I have 50% more gray hair today than I did 2 years ago and it's his fucking fault. I have weekly meltdowns. I can't function at all with this stress. I want that fucker to suffer for what he's done to me and countless others he's done worse to.

He seems like a danger to everyone every second he’s alive.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 3 points 2 days ago

The only way vance ever sees a day as president is if trump doesn't finish his term.

I'd rather see him live to face consequences, honestly. We need to make an example out of him so that nobody tries this shit again, at least for the next century or so...

[–] MangioneDontMiss@feddit.nl 13 points 3 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I don't care if he dies, I just want his family to repay all the money its stolen from the American people.

[–] Master@sh.itjust.works 5 points 2 days ago

I just want the government to seize back all the money he and his family and cronies stole.

[–] mefisdo_dot_info@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 days ago

or suffer a paralyzing stroke

[–] Master_Suck@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

The cronies definitely, but remember, he strives for attention, whether it comes from good or bad publicity. His case should be dealt with swiftly, and without his direct involvement if at all possible.

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 31 points 3 days ago (2 children)

We've lost way too many good people to sudden passings... why the fuck is this miserable pile of shit still ticking?

Hatred is a potent life fuel unfortunately

[–] PancakesCantKillMe@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He’s so slimy he keeps slipping through The Claw.

[–] Nasan@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago

I was assured that nothing stops The Claw.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Not good enough. I want him to live to 120. In a cell.

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 56 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Any additional stress on him can only hasten the ultimate solution to his madness.

[–] FullPenguin@lemmy.world 29 points 3 days ago (2 children)

And let him and his friends get off that easy? No way, try them all, convict them, send them to prison or the gallows, and claw back as much of the money they've gained at the expensive of the country as possible.

[–] orclev@lemmy.world 21 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Even if he died he should still be tried posthumously, if only to give his victims closure, claw back some of the money he's stolen for those victims, and to insure his legacy as the most criminal president of the US is properly recorded. It will also be important for the cases against his collaborators.

[–] FullPenguin@lemmy.world 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You can't try someone criminally posthumously, and the civil trial would not carry the same weight.

Let alone the media surrounding him would quickly disappear and his cronies could quietly fade from the lime light with all the money they stole.

[–] cyphear@thelemmy.club 13 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If Pope Formosus could be tried nine months after his death, I don't see any reason why we couldn't do it again. Seeing as how Trump was "God-sent" it should be well within the powers of the Roman Catholic Church to do so again.

[–] StabbingSky@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

But the Roman Catholic Church protects child rapists.

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 7 points 3 days ago

I'd prefer a prolonged suffering for him, both physically and financially, but for the betterment of the people domestic and abroad, I'll gladly take a quick ending and a posthumous charging of his and his families crimes.

It's not the justice he deserves, but it would be best for everyone in the short term.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not nearly enough for the suffering he's unleashed on the entire human race

[–] ElChinchilla@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

We need someone who causes an equally insane amount of good to come along.

I don't think about him. I'm a fish.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 26 points 3 days ago

He has served well as the millstone around the Republican neck. Time for him to get a stroke over the vote results and croak.

[–] CileTheSane@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

Then you'll be glad to know he's never happy. Everything he has and it's never enough. It's never enough money, enough power, enough control, enough praise... He is always perpetually unhappy that he doesn't have more.

[–] tired_n_bored@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I just love when Trump rants like that, it means he's suffering ❤️
