I have the opportunity to work in a field where jobs are all over the place. My last employer gave shit raises every year. Around 2%. Told me I was one of the best paid employees on the team. (And also one of the seniors, so...) I finally switched companies with a good salary bump that was worth it.

But people who work in manufactures like these, they have nowhere else to go. If the place closes down, often the whole city shuts down and dies.

That's why I think any company that deals with natural resources and their transformation should be nationalized. Entire towns shouldn't be held hostage by a greedy corporation like this.
