Even just looking at internet policy, it's clear the Canadian government isn't working for the benefit of ordinary Canadians. They have Bill C-22, which potentially undermines privacy by compromising encryption, enhances surveillance through mandatory metadata retention, and could make it hard for anyone but large corporations to legally run online services in Canada. They have Bill C-34, which introduces a new commission with the power to censor and control what Canadians can access on the internet, and requires Canadians to hand over government-issued ID to access websites and online services, potentially to third parties run from the USA. And the Canadian government continues to increase intelligence sharing with the USA despite the USA clearly being hostile and a threat to Canada. Whoever they're governing for, it's not us.
