Don’t get me wrong, some of them are alright. Anything by Kinggath and Elianora is pretty much guaranteed to be quality. I just remember when Bethesda games had a bunch of high quality expansions.
Not gonna lie, I kinda hate Starfield, but I also beat it ten times and did 240 temples when it was new (before Shattered Space), and I kinda wanna do the pirate campaign again. Maybe vanguard.
If you hate it after playing it 10 times, I think you got your money's worth.
a lot of people say it sucks after 30 hours but if a game has 30 hours worth of good content is it even a bad game?
I'd say it's a good game but fails in a lot of places.
The concept of basically doing a canon new game +was pretty cool, but making it so that you had to grind out 10 runs to max your powers was pretty mind numbing. I basically never focused on acquiring or building anything because it would be a waste when I starborn'd over to the next universe. Outposts were absolutely useless as I recall. The hassle of setting up automated mining and shipping was pointless when you could just wait for resource shops to restock and buy whatever you needed.
The main quests were honestly great but past 3 plays the game just loses all pull for me.
Oh last thing, the lockpicking minigame is the BEST of any game ever. No sweet spot finding or fiddling with stupid pins that don't stick, you had to plan that out.
Damn I didn't even finish it once. And not for lack of wanting to, but my PC literally couldn't handle it at the time.
I played it on GamePass, on the Xbox. Runs great, bugs notwithstanding.
I wonder how it would have fared on my last PC. 4th generation Xeon, 16GB DDR4... 3GB Radeon 280. Pretty sure it required 4GB, but a lot of games that required 4GB or more ran fine on that rig. Cyberpunk 2077 for example. I mean it ran 1080p at like 20FPS, but it was absolutely playable. Never tried Phantom Liberty on it though, if that raised the specs. My current computer can technically run it. Apple M2 Pro, 16GB DDR5, M2 Pro iGPU. Apparently the Switch 2 benches between the Apple M1 and the Apple M2, and I have the M2 Pro, which has more cores. But I think the Switch 2 edition of the game uses optimised textures. Game runs like shit on my computer, so I run it on Xbox.
I can play Fallout 4 pretty well on my Mac, but that's a 2015 game. I have never tried to run Starfield on it. I actually don't own it. I do own Shattered Space, which is an interesting situation. Xbox will let me download it, but since I am no longer on GamePass, I can't do anything with it. I actually have been watching for Starfield sales because I would like to own it. I should probably look for a cheap copy of the disc version. When I say I don't like the game, it's mainly the bugs I don't like. Like turning all of Constellation against you because you killed the spacer/Ecliptic/pirate leader that were hijacking a random ship and the leader was allied to Constellation (this is a bug). The game is actually really fun, if a bit... empty. And the Starborn powers are weak AF, especially compared with their Skyrim versions (they're just shouts), and especially the invisibility one that was nerfed when Bethesda realised we were all using it to loot the high end gun store on Neon (I forget the name, they sell the base version of the Revenant) and basically having the second-best gun in the game straight away.
I will always love That One Moment in the Main Quest (the part on Earth — not trying to spoil it for you), and most of other quests. I just wish Bethesda loved it as much as its players do.
I did get to that story mission and I did think it was really cool.
Also, apparently you can go to a couple different ruins on Earth in-game, like New York, I think Paris, and maybe one other.
Yes, if you... collect the snowglobe? Was that it? I collected most of them but I never visited them in the game. One thing I didn't do.
