I support people making their own choice. That's a good thing.
I don't understand 'there is no taxpayer money'. Do you not understand where the CBC government handout comes from? You know it comes from taxpayers, right?
The government is not accountable to the individual taxpayer it is accountable to society as a whole. You as an individual taxpayer have no say about how the money is spent other than exercising your right to vote. Your tax contributions are not yours to manage. That money belongs to the government who is far more capable of managing that than an armchair disgruntled libertarian accountant who wants more disposable income for himself. It’s not about you or me but it’s about we.
We live in a society.
Canada has voted to maintain and invest in public services including the CBC. The End.
Just so I can know for the future, is it only the CBC funding I'm not allowed to have an opinion on? Or are there other government policies I can't have an opinion on? Or is it just all government policies that are off limits? Like in China and Russia.
