If he's swinging that low, then they release how badly they fucked up.

But their messaging works. And gets votes. I guarantee next time I see my dad he'll bring up Talarico being a slur while emphasizing the foreign-ness of his last name. He will not, however, acknowledge any details about Ken Paxton's criminal behavior, because that's fake news and he "won" by not getting indicted/convicted. I hope he dies soon so my votes aren't canceled out by him any more.

Try to talk to your dad and convince him there's no point to him voting as Paxton is a shoe-in so he might as well go fishing/hunting/suck off one of the boys as they needed some company and it's not gay to help a friend/play some pool at the bar. Do the things the "Demon-rats" want to take away from him (according to Fox News)

"Dad, that Stephen Miller guy is so dumb he got 'transgender' and 'presbyterian' mixed up. Fucking millennial could learn how to read if he wasn't so busy making avocado toast all the time."

I'm a millennial but I will gladly malign my entire generation with the usual inaccurate tropes if this strategy actually works.

Some people will believe anything if it means their in-group is good and the out-group is weak and bad. Probably the best hope for humanity is somehow channeling that trait so in-group is humanity and oh i just re-invented the end of watchmen, I think.

Adrian Veidt was right.

the anti-trans propaganda has primed most republican voters to vote for whoever the R is.

Not really sure what he means by the foreign-ness of the name. Unless it's in Choctaw or whatever, there aren't really any "American" surnames. The place is only a couple of hundred years old so there's no history. The house I grew up in is older than that.

Maybe rico being the last part of his last name could add an extra Hispanic accent. TalaRRRico

But they went even lower, they called him a vegan!!

(He's not even a vegan)

In Texas? That’s worse than calling him gay.

He came out with a statement that he's 8th generation Texan, and he LOVES Barbecue.

All he has to do is shoot a single ad of a big family picnic, and be seen enthusiastically eating a rib. Not like that McDs CEO, who looked like his own burger was poisoned, but like you actually LOVE good ribs.

[–] cannedtuna@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Specifically Tarico said he’s been eating bbq long before Paxton’s first indictment
