The Conservative Party is now the MAGA Wannabe Fascist Party, and the Liberal Party is now the Conservative Party. Canada took a huge lurch to the right at the last election.
Yep, I won't be voting for them the next election. I voted to avoid a conservative government and feel like we ended up with one anyways. It's very disheartening and I wish they would switch us to a ranked ballot or something like it.
There won't be another election until 4 years my guy. That's a long way off. In the meantime they have all the capacity to fuck us over royally.
People should've voted NDP in the last election to begin with.
Great, let me just hop in my time machine and vote differently in the last election 🙄
Should we have though? The NDP is not the answer either, federally they are a disorganized mess, and always just seem to be so. They had a brief shining light in Jack Layton, but buddy has been down for just about 15 years now. And they've been nothing but next to impotent ever since. Hell they even held the very unique position of being a very minority, but very much in control of the reigns not that long ago, and they somehow largely pissed that away.
Not saying I like the Liberals nor the Conservatives either. But what the fuck? If we all run and go vote NDP, that theoretically splits the vote and we end up with a PP as a Prime Minister (and god save us all should that happen).
They are not a disorganized mess. That's what the media wants you to think. Throughout the electoral campaign, the media's focus has been on the Liberals and there definitely was a positive bias on that party compared to the other ones.
During the last government, the NDP was able to pass a few bills, as a 3rd minority party! That's a big deal! Things like the national child care program, and the dental care plan. Unfortunately, the liberals took all the credits for it.
Your perception is exactly what the media wants you to think. If you bothered to look into the party and see what's going on and what they want to do, you'd probably find more in common with them than any other party.
And since the last election, Jagmeet has stepped down and there's an election coming up to elect the next party leader. One of the candidates, Avi Lewis, is a very strong, very popular candidate whom I think will be able to make the party shine. He's got good values, he has a great understanding of the problems middle-class Canadians are facing and has great solutions, and he's got great charisma and communication skills that I think will be able to rally people under that party.
It was a big deal. And now they aren't even an official party. So tell me again, how this isn't a mess? That's not the CBC painting them as whatever you are saying they are either. I mean believe what you want, but it's hard to say a party that has now lost official party status, isn't having a moment. You think Avi Lewis will be able to rally people, but you have no actual proof yet that he will or won't.
What would you expect when electing a world banker?
