Hey guys,

I started this community because I was a frequent user of /r/translators before I got banned from Reddit. I'm a translator/interpreter in Japan, and I really like helping people with translations in my free time too.

I've helped many people dodge bullets with crappy Japanese tattoos that make no sense, decipher old letters, identify artworks, and much more.

Of course, the community is not limited to just Japanese and English pairs. Anyone is free to ask help with whatever language!

I've been playing the japanese version of Animal Crossing: Wild World in order to improve my japanese, and while I can understand enough to get by I still find myself stumped sometimes.

Context:
In Animal Crossing the player's mother will sometimes send them letters about various topics,「エミリー」is my character's name.

Is it just that the lady being recirded is trying to give a clever answer "poisson" because it's already under water and maybe because it rhymes with boisson, but then the cameraman is just giving a straightforward answer (a zebu)?

Sorry about all the Instagram videos, it's about all I get my French content right now. I can stop if it bothers Lemmy users , or at least try to transcribe it instead.

What is the character on the left saying? I can read the character, but I can't understand what that single sound is supposed to mean.
