MODERATORS

Hey guys,

I started this community because I was a frequent user of /r/translators before I got banned from Reddit. I'm a translator/interpreter in Japan, and I really like helping people with translations in my free time too.

I've helped many people dodge bullets with crappy Japanese tattoos that make no sense, decipher old letters, identify artworks, and much more.

Of course, the community is not limited to just Japanese and English pairs. Anyone is free to ask help with whatever language!

よろしく!

PS: It's my first time ever modding a community so I've a lot to learn. Feel free to let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

The community looks great!

I would recommend promoting it on !communitypromo@lemmy.ca and !newcommunities@lemmy.world so that people can find it. You can also post in related communities, like maybe !languagelearning@sopuli.xyz?

You might need to do a lot of the work initially making posts and helping people know about the community, but eventually things do kick off :)

We have some (work in progress) guides for mods on this page: https://fedecan.ca/en/guide/lemmy/for-moderators

Good luck :)

Thank you! I'll start doing that and see if I get some traction in the community.
