fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. its a mythological story about the emergence of consciousness into humanity. came with it was the discovery of time and "the future", then the realization of vulnerability and the need to protect oneself, then the extrapolation that "if I can be hurt in xyz ways, I can make others hurt in those same ways". consciousness begot the potential for both great good and great evil.

people manifesting their evilness has been a problem since the very beginning. I think it helps to know that it's not a new, modern age problem. but we should still try our best to minimize it much as we can.

I mean, isn't Jesus supposed to be like the perfect moral examplar? the guy defended, and washed the feet of, those socially considered beneath him. if only more men tried to actually model their behavior like Jesus, modern society would be in a much better place for everyone, religious and otherwise
