I once worked with a woman who transitioned. She asked us to try not to use the phrase “guys” because she worked so hard to not be called a guy. Took me weeks of screwing up, but I was able to switch from “guys” to “folks”. I no longer work with her, but have continued to use folks as it feels more inclusive.

I think the point is why bust your balls in the sun for 12 hours a day when you can make the same money doing basic clerical work in an air conditioned office

Honestly this is so simple and effective at stopping these sort of scams dead in their tracks. When you call in to help desk and say “I was just on the phone with your agents about a payment problem” and they don’t see any record, it’ll set off all sorts of alarm bells. Especially if it’s the bank.
