It's really easy to try out most linux distributions by running them live from a USB drive. You'll need to be able to tell your computer to boot from the drive by entering your BIOS setup.

Once you've done that you've probably done the most technical thing you'll have to do to try linux. If you have a separate SSD to install linux on you'll have a pretty easy time actually installing linux. If not you'll have to learn to partition your drive which can feel a little scary.

I think if you are playing a lot of different games it's likely you will find some that won't run on linux so you'll likely still need to run some form of windows for some games. I'd hope to see that change in the future but I'm not holding my breath. I personally still do most of my gaming on windows because some of my favorite games don't run on linux but it really depends on your preferences.

Rage, disappointment, fear. Also for now the strange feeling that despite everything my life isn't any different than it has been for the most part. I do feel some hope as I have been going to protests and watching the numbers of people there rise every day.
The scariest thing about everything is just how absurdly powerful the US military is, and knowing that they have chain of command which has Donald Trump at the top. My instinct keeps telling me I should flee, but to where? Canada? I could see a possible future where that would make sense, but I also see a possible future where Canada becomes just as bad.

pretty sure the buttons are "keyed" in a way that doesn't let you put them in the wrong slot. It's been that way for controllers I took apart.

I have a Powkiddy v90, an Anbernic RG300X, a Powkiddy RGB30, A Miyoo a30 and a Miyoo Mini V4. I had but sold a Retroid Pocket 4.

I love the Powkiddy v90. I mostly play NES, Sega Genesis, Pico 8 (Celeste), DOOM 1 and 2, and Quake on this device. The software is stellar in my opinion. The devs did alot of good work making gmenu2x super customizable. It runs on an SD card with BTRFS which makes it rock solid. I would carry this device with me every day if it felt more durable. The controls are kinda mediocre but not bad once I got used to them.

I liked the Anbernic RG300X when I got it. The size and form factor is about perfect but it's software experience doesn't hold up compared to my other devices any more. The controls feel great although the face buttons have a not normal layout.

The Powkiddy RGB30 is pretty good. I really like playing Quake with Quakespasm on this device. The controls are kinda mediocre on this device though, everything kinda feels too small and below average build quality. This battery is usually dead when I want to use it so I have to charge it first.

The Miyoo a30 and the Miyoo Mini V4 are both pretty great with MinUI. They are both small and they both came with cases and are small enough to carry with me in my pocket in the case. I don't really know which one I like better and I carry either one with me most days. The controls on these are extremely good. Shoulders are very awkward on the miyoo mini though..

I thought the Retroid Pocket 4 was good, the sticks were great, it could play PSP, but I really hate Android devices so I got rid of it.

Oh and I built the Viterbi with Gateron yellow switches which are like Cherry red but with a heavier actuation because I tend to accidentally press keys with red switches.

Here is what I use. The split mechanical one is from Keebio. I don't think they stock the PCB I used any more. It's called the Viterbi and I like it a lot. It's just 2 simple 7x5 ortho boards with an option for a 2u spacebar on the bottom inside keys on both halves.
My other keyboard is a Kensington Pro Fit Ergonomic Wired Keyboard. It's about 40 dollars on Amazon. I got it because I was learning Blender and it uses hotkeys on the numpad and other keys I don't have on my Viterbi.

The camo works pretty good. I didn't notice it until you mentioned it.

I work at a golf course and I'd rather be doing something meaningful like building homes so this post speaks to me directly.

Unfortunately the big thing lately is we've been dropping a bunch of trees.

I mean anything made of real materials that aren't plastics and fiberboard is luxurious to me. So yes I would consider a floor or a countertop made of actual stone luxurious.

I have been keeping up with my dishes lately more than I ever have in my life. It came about in kind of a weird way for me. My dishwasher broke and I suddenly had to hand wash all my dishes. I knew it was going to be a major problem so I made a goal. I decided I was going to make sure I washed every dish every night before I went to bed so they would never stack up to be a nightmare. Eventually my apartment manager got around to replacing my dishwasher and now I have kept up with doing dishes every evening only it's a lot easier with a dishwasher.

Now I run the dishwasher almost every night, unless it's really empty then I just leave it. Every morning I unload it while my coffee is brewing.

To some people this might not seem like a big deal, and to others it might seem impossible to keep up this routine. To me it has been a big improvement to my quality of life. If I feel like cooking something I always have a kitchen that is in a state that will allow me to do that and it always feels so good.

As a handheld gaming device it looks pretty terrible compared to other options. I could see myself getting one if it was a phone and it was cheap enough. I think the experience might be better than using the tiny bluetooth controller I keep on my keychain. I wonder if it has shoulder buttons. The photos don't show that side of the device.
