When I moved from the Midwest to Los Angeles, CA c. 2013 it was a bit of a culture shock to learn that almost no one had a computer.

I still don’t know anyone who owns one that doesn’t have to work with one.

And it is totally about phones and tablets. I don’t even think the kids learn to type in schools anymore.

I really tried to use a “usb” install for a long time but could never get kernel upgrades (and some other packages) to work correctly.

These days I do a “sys” install but mount /var/log and some other directories to RAM.

This gave me a good laugh, imagine putting the SIM card into a mobile router or something. Just use it like a data plan, no big deal.

A long time ago I did try watching at least some of his addresses because he is after all the President, but if I can’t make it through a word salad quote of him I sure as hell can’t make it through that droning, meandering McDonald’s grease lined esophagus voice thing he does.
