I'd carefully review policies of Dropbox or any company to make sure you aren't just jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. If I was you I'd look into one of the encrypted services others have mentioned. Or even just email an encrypted PDF to them on the regular.

Yikes! I always just tossed it into the recycle bin!

It's a Christmas miracle!

I was about to say that surely it's not just 1 person they are talking about. Then I read, "Our North Star is ‘1 engineer, 1 month, 1 million lines of code.’”

WTF

There's also onshape which has a free tier (your files are public) and it's web based so you can model on any platform. Or fusion 360 which comes from an annoying company but fine for little things. I've been using onshape for little things lately. I

don't think I'd recommend blender to a newbie. It's more involved and really takes time to learn. Similar for free CAD. I love the idea but it's really clunky to use.

The best (imo) modeling software has a simple workflow with easy to find tools. Create a sketch, extrude that sketch, then do it again if needed, add holes etc...

I just model nearly everything I print. The one time I purchased was from cults3d. I'm sure printable or anywhere else is fine too. Most of the paid ones just have better pictures but some are great designs imo

That's just about all I need. Vpn + privacy browser is as much effort as I'm willing to put in. Beyond that it gets really frustrating.

I think it might be a retroid pocket mini. Here's a list of reviews on these little handheld guys I found in my hunt that might be helpful.

Pouring resources into it... Doesn't almost every other os/distro have this option?

[–] tyrant@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Probably. But that was a long time ago because I'm old as fuck.

I feel like there was a time when Nintendo was the good guy?

Looking for a e ink ebook reader that's easy on the eyes, can do Libby library books easily, and extra bonus if there is a built in planner that could sync online. I don't want to be locked into an Amazon or other system that requires subscription services. Thanks!

Edit: thanks a ton for all the replies and advice. I ordered a kobo libre color! Going to set it up for the misses as a gift. She generally wants a physical book but recently had been reading on her phone and complaining about it hurting her eyes. <3

I've been killing myself trying to figure out what's going on with my gut. I have a sensitivity to SOMETHING but elimination diets aren't pinpointing the source. Has anyone used one of these type of tests? My doctor said it's a scam but I figured the internet wouldn't, no.... COULDN'T lie to me. Thanks Lemmings!

Over the years I’ve tended to shy away from browser syncing and as a result I’ve lost a ton of useful links. Looking for a browser extension that can sync across devices, between different browsers (frequently switch from librewolf, firefox, vivaldi, etc…), and isn’t going to sell my info to the highest bidder. Do any of you lemmings have a good option for me?
