L is a hero no matter what. The way they've completely destroyed his ability to live is insane. Solitary allday in a straight jacket isn't something anyone that haven't even gone to trial yet should endure.

Guilty? A fucking hero.
Innocent? A symbol of how fucked up the system is, and a fucking hero.
