When I collapse a long comment at or near the bottom of the thread, the viewer is blank and i have to scroll far upwards to find the comment i collapsed. I'd suggest to scroll to keep the collapsed comment handle somewhere in view.

corollary: sometimes being maximally organized/extensible/unclever makes something incredibly complicated or even unmaintainable

ah maybe the ios one doesnt have that? under there i just see send notifications, show preview, and push server options, plus a 'test notifications' (which does succeed). no 'notification service' option.

I have background app refresh and instant notifications enabled, what else?

i've been using the ios app and often do not get any notification for an incoming message. seems i often dont get anything until i open the app again. is this a known issue?

i find it kind of thrilling. you use your brain as much as you can but sometimes you are forced to let your heart decide.

When reading longposts I often lose my place by either a) accidentally tapping the Feeds button in the corner of the screen with the heel of my palm, which scrolls to the top, or b) accidentally tapping the article body (either while actively scrolling or just holding my phone), which collapses the post.

Anyone have advice for avoiding these on longposts? Skill issue?

I just noticed the newish green leaf icon by some posts. But I didn't intuit the meaning -- does it indicate the age of the account? Old dry oak leaf emoji for accounts over a decade old? 😏 Acorn emoji for accounts opened today? Might be interesting to be able to filter based on these criteria...

I see a lot of ads these days for fancy mechanical keyboards from numerous brands, but the thing I always wonder about is: how do we know these keyboards dont have keyloggers or other spying tech built into them?

Anyone played Last Call BBS from Zachtronics? Seems like it might be fun.

Got my first High Five earlier this week after a Lot of matches, and just helped win a diamond 3s tournament. Feels good xD

Unicomp again? (lemmy.sdf.org)

i have a Unicomp ps2 keyboard that I've been using for about 25 years that seems to be nearing the end of its service life. it gave me a scare a few years back so i bought a cherry mx board as a backup but the thing gave me doublestrikes all the time so that's not a long-term solution for my next iteration. considering going for another unicomp since i like the chonkyness of it. i always think about a keyboard i encountered back in the 90s that had a special MACRO section onboard, and the old SIIG ALPS keyswitch keyboards. anyone used one of those new-fangled optical keyswitch boards?
