Not my favorite source, but the only one with coverage of this right now.

China’s Xi Jinping and the EU’s Ursula von der Leyen were among the leaders on a private video call organized by the United Nations.

Because once outside the US, the Republican position is that they no longer have recourse to the courts. So you can hustle somebody to El Salvador really fast, and then there is nothing they can do about it.

Whereas if you put people through the usual trial process and keep them in a US prison, they can later be freed as innocent.

I don't expect that to last.

It could also be that there is simply no plan whatsoever

Because in the US you have some recourse to the courts. In a foreign one, the current Supreme Court seems to think you don't.

Actually they're spread across the US, Canada, and Mexico, with parts crossing borders many times during the course of manufacture. All this does is make the whole system in North America non-viable. So Chinese manufacturers will take over the world market, and Americans will be left with inferior overpriced options like Soviet citizens in the 1980s

When the US interned the those with Japanese ancestors during WWII, nobody else stepped in to take over their crops. The result was shortages instead of a change in who did the work.

Sure, if you're getting paid cash with no 1099 and no w2, you can get away with it. Most people, not so much.

Pretty much. Wages are reported to the IRS by your employer, so you can't really evade taxes on them.

For sure, as is apartment owner support for installing chargers, which is mostly what I've seen around here

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Interesting. The place that matters for chargers is usually home, where people install their own — public chargers are basically for when you're on a road trip, and wouldn't have charged up the night before.

Don't actually. Just make it boring and empty. If you have porn, they can do things like lie you and say that one of the girls was underage, and then use the threat of prosecution to coerce you into serving as an informant or the likes.

One difference between the fascists and the rest of us is that for us, words have meaning, while for the fascists, they're only a tool for manipulation when spoken to somebody they see as inferior.
