the guy lost his mother due to their hoarding, hygiene, and health issues. the guy recently also lost his father to health issues/cancer. You'd think it would be a wake up call for him to start getting his shit together but it won't.

I guarantee you he's going to get health issues because of his teeth. His gums have rotted away and routinely bleed (he wipes the blood from his gums on his bedroom wall btw). His home is infested with rats, cockroaches and god knows what else that I'm honestly surprised he hasn't been bitten by a rat yet while he's sleeping. The guy is so repulsed by water that I'm surprised he doesn't have rabies. He can't even drink it because he finds it gross. He won't eat any fruit and vegetables for the same reason, they're gross.

All he eats is junk food and fast food and he's as thin as a rake. his gums are rotted. I'd be curious to know what his index and middle fingers look like at this point...

I honestly don't know why people are still harping on this. what's even the point? I know he's on the files, you know he's on the files, everyone knows. so why? do people honestly, firmly, believe that releasing said files will be an a-ha moment that will lead to his impeachment? no of course not. It's such a stupid thing to be concerned about. Democrats file motions of impeachment against this asshole on a nearly weekly basis and it goes no where. like what's the point? oh THIS time it will? no it won't. Guy ignores the courts on a routine basis.

might as well just slap cancer warnings on everything these days. Launch a massive banner to orbit so everywhere can see the cancer warning for the sun. Doctors need to hold a cancer warning sign when a baby is being birthed so it'll be the first thing they see because you can literally just get cancer for simply living.

Keep in mind that sometimes a Battle.net update will be released that will essentially break playing WoW and other games via the launcher on Linux. usually it's resolved within a couple days. your best bet is to install it via a Lutris script and if something goes wrong DO post about it either on the Lutris Forums and/or Discord because one of the main Lutris devs is a WoW player so if there are issues with installing WoW on your system he will be right on top of it. It's your best bet in resolving an issue, he knows all the work arounds and fixes to get battle.net and WoW running on any distro.

nix-shell is great too. sort of like a "demo" of something before actually committing to it or if you just want to use something one off without adding it to your config and rebuilding.

As a dev it's fantastic for testing also. can just try something on a bunch of browsers without actually installing the browser. love it.

they don't understand it. How are you going to stop people from having a dedicated server outside the country and then setting up their own VPNs? Wireguard is free and easy to access, how do you stop that?

If I want to open up my personal VPN to a bunch of Americans to use for free then what? I'm not American, my server isn't in America, so why can't I just give access to a few Americans? Hell my server would be great cause it's located in a University so...student discounts!

I believe if a new generation of consoles are released they're just going to be glorified streaming boxes. Sony has pretty much hit a plateau as far as graphics go, there's not much you can improve upon now. And sure people are cancelling and complaining about gamepass but Microsoft might just go the route of "we'll tell you what you want, and if you want this exclusive you'll have no choice but to subscribe".

So you'll pay for this streaming box, you'll get maybe a couple months of the subscription for free, then you'll pay $30 to $50 a month to get access to their catalog. Sony and Nintendo will follow suite. If you want to actually "own" anything you'll play on PC and even then that's truly up for debate. Like do you actually own the content you buy on Steam?

Japan has always been conservative. Always. People think because of the things they produce which are fun, entertaining, or technologically advance they would be very liberal and/or progressive but no at the end of the day Japan, culturally, is still very conservative.

So combine that with their declining population, racism that never truly went away, xenophobia, etc it makes sense. I've known people that moved there thinking it'd be a great time because they had such a massive interest in the Japanese "culture" but that "culture" was just window dressing. It's not all fun anime, videogames, jpop, and fashion. They ended up moving back and completely losing interest in all things Japanese. It wasn't a fun a experience for them.

it's funny that still to this day Okada still constantly steals Nicks gear and puts it on.

I can't even watch anything on Twitch anymore. I used to watch moonmoon, gigaboots, cohhcarnage, northern lion, etc and I just stopped months ago. It's not fun anymore. I might tune in to watch desert bus or AGDQ but that's about it and that's just for background noise when those events are happening.

But the site, overall, just isn't the same. Maybe the content got worse or I just grew out of it.

Years ago when I still worked for companies as an employee my team had this PM that was so desperate to get things done and get them done early. I mean he was a nice guy but always pushing. The thing is though my team was pretty damn solid and we got stuff done early, all working, tests passed, all that cause we liked to play battlefield 3 and eve online together when we had the free time. Course we never told the PM this. Also the PM liked to motivate us with food if we worked late to get stuff finished. So we used this to our advantage and once or twice a week we allowed the PM to buy us dinner and beer/snacks because we told him we'd be working late to ensure deadlines were met. When in reality we'd just be in the office playing eve online together and wanted food and beer while we did so.

I don't feel bad for the project manager, he came from money, he constantly told everyone he came from money, so we took his money.

I recently was given an old Acer Chromebook R11 from someone who was clearing out their stuff and didn't want it. As is right now it works just fine but I thought that I would put linux on it. I know how to do so via chrultrabook but I'm just curious if putting NixOS on it would be a smart idea. It has 16gb of internal storage that is soldered in so I can't really upgrade it. I do however have a 2TB dedicated server which it would be connected to at all times. But with NixOS Generations and nix store I'm wondering if that 16gb would fill up quick and make impractical for a chromebook.

The chromebook is a touch screen and can flip the monitor around also so It'd be nice to also use as a virtual second screen via remmina or whatever for my main laptop.

Would NixOS be a decent choice or should I consider a different distro?

thanks.

Also thanks to all the people that really motivated to keep going yesterday, This is Day 17 of 30 for drawing every single day. I haven't drawn a Ninja Turtle since I was a kid so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Also here are some pieces from previous days.
