The beauty of the Fediverse. It's distributed!

Such a great site and resource.

Parts of Bluesky are decentralizing. For example my account's PDS is not with Bluesky.

You are correct that Bluesky and Mastodon (et. al) don't really run on Web3 at all.

Wow not a good look.

Every system is under attack from AI... WordPress is no different. What's different is that WP.org is on top of the security game.

A private Slack channel, 24 hours’ notice, and strict information-sharing rules. How the WordPress project coordinated industry-wide defenses before going public with vulnerabilities.

Such a joke that it powers a huge swath of the net. Such a joke, huh?

The first maintenance release for 7.0 fixes admin reskin issues, a CSS sanitization bug, and block editor regressions ahead of the 7.1 release.

For me I like Elementor but I also use the Block Editor and OllieWP.

I'm curious. Do you prefer a page builder (and if so which one) or the Native WordPress Block Editor?

Inquiring minds want to know! (Me!)

Matt Mullenweg says the wheels have fallen off a bunch of things at WordPress. I agree but it's started with him and his tantrum against WP Engine and the Trademark disputes around the foundation.

Have you all heard of the weekly podcast from Scott Johnson and @BrianDunaway@mastodon.social called Play Retro?

I've loved Elementor for so long. It's the page builder that I default to most of the time when I'm building sites for my clients at my agency. But lately it's gotten so bloated and hard to use.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I've build a few with the native block editor and I'm liking where that's finally heading.

Thought this was an interesting piece from WP Beginner. Granted it might be a bit bias being that the site is a WP site. But, I've seen these #'s elsewhere as well.

Brand new Lenovo on Windows 11. 32 GB of ram and 1tb SSD. Works great, mostly, until it has trouble waking up from sleep.

LOL Anyone else have a tired Win 11 computer?

Looks like the last update was 12 months ago. Are you still updating it?

The best thing I can think of that is happening to Bluesky right now is that people and communities are spinning up 3rd party PDS servers and letting people join them. This is allowing, finally, the decentralization, of the AT Protocol.

That along with the folks at ANew.Social with their bounce and bridgy tools is making the inter-connectivity of the open web so much better.

Have any of you tried moving your Bluesky account to a new PDS?

I'm so excited for the second Fediforum of 2025 in October. The first one earlier this summer was excellent.

Say what you will about what happened earlier in the year with on of the organizers. Johannes has done a good job finding new board members to ensure the Fediforum continues.

Any chance of supporting Mbin/Kbin and Piefed?
