2 years? Try 8.5 years.

Trump’s tariff reversal came after he watched an interview on Fox Business with JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, during which the bank boss said that a recession was a “likely outcome” of the new trade policies, according to the Washington Post.

Trump was asked by a reporter on Wednesday when he decided to put a pause on the tariffs.

“I would say this morning. Over the last few days, I’ve been thinking about it. Fairly early this morning,” he said.

Gen z hated that there were alphabet letters in math so they made this monstrosity.

Why are you dishwashing it?

They are all Republicans. They own the excessive power. Why would they enact checks and balances on it? Elections have consequences.

Have they ever fooled around with each other at all in the past?

Guys guys, settle down. Two countries can be horrible dictatorships which don't care about it's citizens human rights. It doesn't need to be a contest. Both of you have a popsicle and go play on the swings.

I keep trying to learn to draw but I simply suck at it no matter what. I’d love to learn how to draw all kinds of things like architectural drawings, or cute designs, etc. But I can barely even copy something if I have the picture right in front of me.

I’d like to take a class that teaches the basics of drawing that I could follow along with using Procreate or something. Does anyone have good recommendations for someone who seems unable to gain any proficiency at drawing?

If you go far enough left you become right wing again. Horseshoe theory is real and it's proven time and time again.

The only real political spectrum that matters is normal sane people with a brain vs. the extremists.

I might have to try PieFed. I think this might inspire me to.

No it's not ethical. I say this as a queer man indoctrinated in Christianity. I was lucky to make it through childhood without killing myself. I tried several times. Religion is a cancer that should be exterminated.

I almost left due to the toxicity of the tankie triad but luckily I learned the block features work well.

Stop with the peaceful protests and break out the sniper rifles. Kill the President, the Supreme Court, and Musk for good measure.

I think it's also a lack of tech understanding. I know how easy it is to fork a repo so I get how great the fediverse is with all the services being FOSS and anyone can create an instance. This major benefit makes no sense to someone who doesn't even know what a git repo is or the difference between free (but you are the product being sold) and FOSS.

One of my life goals is to own an Airstream or something similar that I can renovate. However we live in an urban area with no place to park it. I do eventually want to own an acreage in a desirable place but that goal is much further off but I would like to start on my Airstream goal a little sooner.

The typical option is rent a space to park it. I can afford it but this feels like throwing money away especially since I have no control over the rent cost, if I'd get kicked out eventually, or maybe I just don't get around to working on the Airstream that often. The timeline of renting is indefinite also.

The other option is buying some land on the cheap if possible. This wouldn't be my dream land. Maybe just a lot somewhere I could park it. I would want to get rid of the land at some point to fund the purchase of my dream land and am wondering if there is some major risk to this? Or is it a good investment?

I'd imagine paying all cash for it.

They will find you and swarm if their "liberal senses" tingle from anywhere.

Found on a lemmy.zip post. These posts all happened within an hour of each other so there is definitely some coordination happening if not outright botting.

We often think lots of animals are cute. Do some animals think humans are cute?

First time I'm trying coil building. It's definitely more relaxing than the wheel and I feel like I can make more organic shapes. Also I'm not skilled enough to get this size on the wheel yet.

We'll see if this survives two kiln firings.

Democrats today are more likely to say they want their party to become moderate than they were four years ago, according to a Gallup poll published Thursday. The survey, conducted in the first week of President Trump’s second term, gauged partisan preferences on the ideological direction of respondents’ respective parties. Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents, 45 percent say they want their party to become more moderate, while 29 percent say they want the party to become more liberal, and 22 percent say they want the party to stay the same.

Haven't figured out how to make imgur posts show images on Lemmy yet.

These are some mugs i made a while back. Still trying to find my process. I drew the linework on Affinity Designer on the iPad and printed out the line work. Used a pencil to scratch out the line work and further carved it. Then painted with underglaze then brushed clear glaze on top after bisquing.

I think I would forgo the clear next time.

Learned my lesson. Will never do that again even though my boss’s boss told me to.

I’m officially quiet quitting and changed my LinkedIn to Open To Work, because fuck this job. The market sucks though so I’ll have to just fly under the radar for a few months until something better pops up.

I hate the fact that I have to work, and I’m just saving up enough money till I can get to the point where I can get some land and be self-sufficient on it.

PETG has always been more fraught than PLA for me but as of late it just looks like a mess.

I'm just trying to do calibration at this point and I'm getting this mess on the pressure advance test in Orca Slicer.

I get so much stringing, boogers, and just terrible prints. It didn't used to be this bad. Any tips?

I'm using a Snapmaker Artisan.

I'm a dumbass and had someone come out and install a 240v outlet (and 120v). The reason I'm a dumbass is I didn't measure and had them install it in a place it wouldn't work for the appliance I am using.

I need to move the outlet a lot closer to the breaker box so I won't need additional wire or material, less actually.

I'm debating doing this myself. I technically have an EE degree but my day job is primarily coding, and any electronics I've worked on are usually the micro variety. I am aware of all the electrical safety requirements and in terms of technicality/connections, I think I just need to copy what has already been done but just remove a bunch of wire and place the outlet closer.

Do you think this is something I could take on myself with some research? My brother-in-law is also a proper electrician and I can facetime him.

Or do you think I should just ask the guys who installed it back and have them do it?
