Real: Creator of the Linux kernel, Linus Torvalds

Fictional: James Holden from the Expanse series, what a fantastic character.

I don't really understand what we're seeing, its like literally anyone who has any amount of power to stop this, either actually wants what's happening, or they just decided they were done trying, which is crazy because they will be next on the literal chopping block. People were rolling over and letting this happen months ago, before they were even 'disappearing' people, so I don't get it.

Oh, and since I said 'months ago' let this sink in, its only been 2 months since January 20th... Jesus fucking Christ.

GEE, WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING?!

How many times are we going to hear 'he can't' or 'he won't' from people regarding Trump. I had a social media post all the way back in 2017 that said "if you're saying things like 'he can't or 'he won't' you're in denial about what's happening..."

8 years later and here we are, friends were saying things like 'he can't' or 'he won't' when before the election I expressed extreme concern about his chances of dictatorship, and here we are with politicians and the media saying 'he can't' or 'he won't'.

You seem to think your enemies will respect you, lol...

I think you better go ask someone on your opposing political spectrum if they'd leave you alone if they found out you had a gun when knocking on your door to arrest or harm you.

Explain to me how a gun would help you when police or government agents or even just a rowdy local militia come knocking on your door, I'm genuinely interested in hearing how you think that will play out.

Thats the fun thing with fascist governments, before you'd get a fine and asked to pay back on a payment plan, and maaaybe get jail time if you reaally went out of your way to not pay your taxes year after year.

Now they can just come get ya in the middle of the night and throw you in jail for any number of reasons, not paying your taxes, being one of them. Oh and then maybe get deported because they took your ID's and passport and when your family members throw a stink and demand you released because you're a born and raised US citizen, oops, they can't find you in the system.

Interesting, been using Linux for over 20 years at this point and never heard of Finnix.. Any system recovery I've had to do, the usual basic live boot from Ubuntu or similar, had the tools I needed. I'll have to check out fennix and see what its all about.

I feel like they are being purposely mis-managed to stall momentum. My city had 2 protests the same day a few weeks back and the one I went to only got like 100 people to attend. Why was there 2 protests instead of 1 larger protest?

Saw a commercial on TV the last time I was home visiting family, and it was a guy at the grocery store looking at produce and picked up a pear and said 'wow, 4 dollars??' And then the next shot was him handing the cashier 2 pears and passing over a credit card, with the overlayed audio mentioning something about being in good hands with whatever credit card company it was. Bleak as fuck for sure. I can't believe someone greenlit that commercial, for what it says about the state of the country and how fucked people are they can't afford basic fucking food without putting it on credit. People can't afford food, and they're framing it as a positive.
