I second this! It seems to have more features than Thunderbird while being just a fifth of the file size.
I can‘t confirm this, but I have read elsewhere that Thunderbird is a bit bloated.
I used to be on Outlook. Two weeks ago I made accounts on Proton and Tuta, but didn‘t like the missing IMAP and SMTP on the free plans.
I then also made an account on web.de, but they don‘t support the plus notation for dynamic addresses (myname+service@email.com). So in the end I payed the 12€ for a year of mailbox.org and have been extremely happy with it!
Fax machines and overhead projectors, if you live in Germany. Basically every office here still has a (frequently used) Fax machine and all schools still use overhead projectors.
It was actually quite a shock to me when my University retired their projectors in 2023. They sent an email to each and every student as a warning. Life‘s crazy here.
That‘s not how it works. The mails are not stored on BetterBird servers (there are none). Your mails are stored on your E-Mail providers server (like Gmail) and downloaded to your local client via IMAP or POP3.
The developer of BetterBird does not have access to any of that.
