Both sides have resorted impressment to refill their ranks, regardless of public pushback men can still get bagged into a van on the street and sent to the front lines.

They're falsely equating ideology to ethnicity.

He was quickly ousted from his position as a popular and respected Minnesota senator during early #metoo, for accusations that you'd never imagine a Republican resigning over, allegations in fact that have failed to take out other more core-party Democrats (Andrew Cuomo comes to mind, he still has a millionaire warchest and is running for NYC mayor this year with full support of the DNC). Democrats fall easily for the virtue olympics.

Nobody should ever get the death penalty. Capital murder is a symptom of a fucked up society.

Death By Hanging (1968)

They did this to the anarchist assassins (And accused assassins) in the 1930s, too. Started summarily deporting people en masse for their beliefs or presumed beliefs, and executing people after brief appearances in kangaroo courts. Honestly if Germany hadn't gone Nazi and basically dragged the us into a war with them, we would have done it instead.

Another year, another round of ODOT trying to push the same regressive and wildly unpopular project on Portland that they've been trying to push for over a decade... Sometimes it feels like we're living in Attack On Titan, but the titans are ODOT with the I-5 plan. They just keep on coming.

Makes one think about proposing a ballot initiative to rewrite ODOT's mission statement.

Feet are preferable when possible. However they don't work for some people, and they do give out at a shorter distance than most other modes.

I guess more generally it is a hierarchical delusion, since it's hierarchy that demands purpose from it's subordinates, capitalism is just the specific hierarchy at play here.

The steady march of human-driven extinctions is a terrible argument for forcibly breeding a population into the hundreds of millions for the express purpose of manual labor until death. That's like reading I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream and being on the side of the malicious AI because it's keeping a half dozen people alive specifically to torture them. Also living things don't need a "purpose" merely to be alive, this is a capitalist delusion.

Anything that makes democratic participation in government harder should be angrily opposed at a minimum.

Not usually, though I've been in situations where I'm at a bar and that's literally the only vegan option on the menu. I've joked in the past that bean burgers are such a crumbly disasater that they fail to replicate the aesthetics of meat entirely, whereas impossible patties do it so well that I'm paranoid and examining the pattie over and over again and asking the barkeep if he's sure this is the vegan one. Either way they're not my idea of fun.
