Lemmy has been really slow for me the last week or two. I pretty much exclusively use the connect app on my phone & when browsing will routinely have posts fail to load when clicked on. When they do load it takes between 10 and 30 seconds.

Has anyone else had this issue, or do I need to adjust my set up? Thanks for any ideas :)

UPDATE: it was indeed the app I'm using. Everything is very snappy on voyager or my webbrowser

I read that for a book club last year! I thought her take on robots was very interesting and different from most other scifi. I liked the idea of machines being able to evolve over time and have their own personalities. I also really enjoyed the hopeful vibes the book had & was a big fan of having an enby and an asexual as the main characters :)

Also there's a sequel to it called a prayer for the crown shy if you didn't already know. Her wayfairers series is also pretty good. I'm reading though it currently.

It's so good! The plot is fast paced without being overwhelming. Its able to be meaningful, fun, and suspensful. Some of the animation sequences are gorgeous too.

I'm glad to hear other people enjoyed it as well :)

Your foliage looks so good! The little touches of movement and lighting really give the scene life.

Super interesting method of entry. It makes a lot of sense as an attack vector. Steam doesn't have a very rigorous process for checking what they offer on their platform & most customers don't check their games before running them.

I'm honestly suprised it hasn't happened more frequently. I wonder if the amount of press this particular incident is getting will cause steam to change their process for publishing games.

For me it's because his whole shtick the last month has been about 'eliminating government waste' then there's half a billion being set aside for his companies shitty cars? I think it's the hypocrisy that really makes this particular thing frustrating.

I've lived in and worked at a number of co-ops. I think they're far better for the employee than traditional businesses when implemented in a democratic way. Having control over the workplace and direction of the business is incredibly valuable. It's also important that the co-op members talk to and know eachother. Having lots of meetings and community building is very typical in this type of business.

Also the type of co-op I'm talking about also returns excess profits to the workers (often with a portion taken out to be put back into the business/saved for a rainy day). In this way they are way better than unions, which no matter how powerful do not fully redistribute profits.

I also think worker co-ops are functionally better than worker communes. Co-ops give much more economic freedom to the workers, and side step many of the pitfalls of live/work communes.

Feel free to ask me more about my experiences if you're curious :)

Hey I just wanted to say I empathize with how stressful this situation must be for all of you & i can see that you all had good intentions at heart when doing this. Everybody makes mistakes & I feel bad about how much venom you guys have gotten. Yes the community should have been consulted, but also you're just people and no one is perfect.

I hope you all are staying healthy & aren't letting this get to you too much 💜
