Damn, didn't know the EU had such killer swag. Just look at those socks and hats!

My guess is trap, check at the vet, give them the needed Vacs, Neuter (the most important part) and then release.

Fucking A. If nothing else works out, I'll open a restaurant serving only soup and call it "Stock Market". Thanks!

If that works out, open also a spinoff Bar called "Stonks"

*battery powered blender...

But yeah, you're right. Goes without saying that one should try to evict as many leaf-tenants as possible beforehand.

Would be nice if there was some timeframe where this is safe for most wildlife

Thank Mr. Skeltal

Also, when you want to remove them (partially or in spring), just mow them and leave the mulch. Easiest cleanup, good for the plants and wildlife

... You ever tried clearing a yard or whole garden overgrown by wild blackberries for years?

God, they're delicious, but they are EVERYWHERE, regrow as soon as you turn around, and you either are very slow and careful or get hurt a lot. Nasty little suckers, those thorns.

I'd guess OP has the same trauma as me

Wenn noch verfügbar, Naheulbeuks Dungeon steht schon länger auf meiner "hole ich mir das mal einfach?"-Liste :)

Afaik, Norway has quite the population of Adders which are also called Vipers: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adder

Their bite hurts like a bitch and in the summer, they often rest in the sun besides taller grass

Naturally, it’s Ankylosaurus. Just look at this armoured tactical turtle and tell me you do not love this silly little guy!

Just wanting to eat his plants. Wanna gnaw on him? Tough luck, it hurts and you cannot crack that shell. Also, he will fucking break your kneecaps with his built-in hammer while you’re bothering him.

Spirit animal.

People running stock or OEM-Android: what do you think about privacy and your personal data in the hands of Google? For Apple, you just kinda have to trust them on not selling/using/… your private data (not discussing how much that trust is worth…). For Google, it is just clear that they are - it’s their business model after all.

Sure - Graphene, Calyx, Lineage etc. exist, but either are limited to specific models, have drawbacks in functionality or are more hassle to setup than most average users are willing to invest.

So, if you are aware of this but still opt to running default Google Android: do you just „ignore“ this? Do you try do „degoogle“ as much as possible? I’m curious to see different opinions on this.

Just some weeks ago, I talked with a friend about how in every Post about Lego, someone just fucking steps into the comments and knows the exact ID of some obscure piece or set shown.

And now I see your comment 👏

Wasn’t there an announcement from proton a few days back to possibly move their data Centers out of Switzerland because of this?

How do you backup important things you store in selfhosted clouds?

I’m currently thinking about hosting Ente myself for syncing all my pictures. Maybe also spinning up nextcloud for various other shared files. However, for me one main benefit of using services like iCloud is the mitigated risk of losing everything in case the hardware fails (and fire, theft, water-damages, …).

Do you keep regular updates on hosted services? Do you keep really important stuff on other providers? Do you have other failsafes?

And no, the microwave is not a valid option.

Roland the Farter was obliged to perform his most intriguing performance „a jump, a whistle, a fart“ for King Henry II every Christmas

Mine‘s getting so accustomed to cold showers that I a) absolutely do not mind cold water for swimming etc. anymore and b) could not enjoy warm or hot showers anymore. They just weren’t nice at all.

Blue hours (sh.itjust.works)

My 2yo has one night with kind of a blue hour every other week, where he wakes up in the night and is just completely awake for 1-2,5 hours. Wanting to read books, maybe snack a bit.

They’re more common for him when there’s something up (milestones like learning a lot new words, when he learned to walk, teething, …)

Do any of you experience them? How do you handle this? We manage okay with keeping the light low, reading books that he can choose, but otherwise enforced staying in the bed.
