Is it possible to use Polar completely offline? I mean with Garmin, the Connect app must be connected to internet in order to serve the data and stuff. I tried Gadgetbridge, but the notifications just do not work well.

I would like smartwatch that doesn't need cloud. I want to keep my data on my hardware and display them with software of my choice.

Hot take: keep proton pass, if there is nothing comparable, and use alternatives for everything else.

I see, thank you :)

I think they started that journey long time ago when they started using open street maps for the rest of the world. I think they have the best styling of the maps. That said I am using Organic Maps, because they are open source. But many friends of mine, that are not from Czech republic already use mapy.cz for quite some time :)

I tried both. Mullvad is a little bit better on Linux and a little bit worse for streaming services from my original country. What I wish for is that the Tailscale integration with mullvad would be possible to pay with crypto (right now you have to pay through tailscale with credit card). If that happens I switch again :)

Leave them be, haters gonna hate. I am afraid its the attention they get that encourages them...

There is an expression in my language for people like you "coffee grinder" - because they go round and round talking about the same thing. If you were at least correct... Saying that one party did one thing right doesn't mean supporting that party blindly or fully. You know, normal people CAN see or say positive things even about people they don't like, that's called objectivity. Doesn't mean they like them, support them, vote for them or anything else. I agree that maybe even the one opinion should not have been made by the company official channel, but its much more okay than people like you, who spread hate and toxicity (much like the republicans that you so much hate...)

I'll check it thanks, do you know if they manufacture anywhere else than china?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

thats what I was afraid of

Actually I don't need it for my phone, but I need USB charger with 10W output (5V,2A). And I would like it not to cost too much, because I need more than one, but if its guaranteed made in Europe... Or any asian made that is not China? I know this is BuyEuropean, but if there is no option, my second rule is no China/US. Thank you

Not this thing again. This has been unnecessarily over-blown topic and has been explained since. Please don't stir unnecessary drama again.

I need to buy some NAS drives. Originally I wanted to go for seagate but they being US company, I have no desire anymore. WD is also US. I know I could opt for Toshiba (Japan) or Synology (Taiwan), both probably excellent options, but I am curious, do we have something european? I didn't find anything. Any experience with the Toshiba or Synology regarding reliability? Thanks
