Yeah, and all I said is you can do tracking without them, as you confirmed, so I don't know what you are disagreeing with.

No

Yes, you can do tracking without displaying any buttons, I don't know what to tell you.

Yeah, but you can do the same tracking without actually displaying any buttons, so the point stands.

You don't have to trust the security checks, but they had to submit their personal information and documents to Uber, and would be easy to find if they did anything. And have two devices actively recording their location. That's much better than an anonymous stranger, and I doubt a predator would go through all that instead of just, you know, remaining an anonymous person on the street.

Your own server where you self-host it isn't under US jurisdiction. It is quite expreme to be wary of open source projects just because the current main developers are based in the US. Sure, there is no guarantee Ente will remain good in the long term, but then there is neither for Immich.

Yeah, and this one was.

Issues like what? It's an open source project that you can self-host, with end to end encryption. I don't see how it compares to sending your photos in plain view to Google.

Try to dilute them with other types of containers, it might help.

Yeah, but not everyone has someone to help them, and many people will prefer Windows for the simple reason that it doesn't give them problems they need to seek help about, even if the problems have good solutions available.

I don't use Gnome, but I assume that in the Help menu of that window you will find contact information for the project. Submit a serious version of your image politely explaining the issues, and maybe if you feel like it a better designed alternative.

I imagine the author, who is probably a single person, would appreciate the feedback.

Yeah, but for non-technical people this is an insurmountable barrier. My aunt isn't "trying a virtual machine".

My guess would be that the password checking feature has a minimum character limit of 4 characters, to avoid false positives on things that aren't actually passwords.
