Fair enough. If you want to replace everything I said about the left with centrists, then go ahead.
If the left genuinely wanted to combat fascism, then they would work to reduce the disparity in wealth.
The solutions are right in front of our faces, but we refuse to enact them because that would mean taking power away from our rulers and putting it back in the hands of workers.
The left is doing their part to make sure fascism succeeds, and we should hold them accountable for it if we want fascism to fail.
Right. It can and has been done before while still turning a profit. People can, did, and still do use self-hosting as a way to play things for free. It has never been the reason for why a game failed financially, though. Most people just don't have the knowledge or the interest to go through the extra steps required to play for free. A lot of them buy things because they genuinely wanted to support the developers.
The abuse is the point. The people in charge spend every day figuring out more ways to take power away from people and give it to the corporation. It's an art and a science at this point.
Money and control. There is no technical reason, and in fact it would be easier to just let people host their own servers.
Allowing self-hosting used to be the norm for online games. Businesses realized a long time ago that gamers stopped having standards and would accept any abuse to not be left out of the hype.
Looks great.
People are complicated.
Every once in awhile, someone on the far right will do what people on the left should've done a long time ago. A major reason for this is because right-wingers tend to have bigger balls than those on the left. Stop being pussies, y'all.
Anything, anything but pass the cost onto the people who can actually afford it: the ruling class.
Gotta keep prices artificially high so the little people never see how much they're getting fucked.
