Its not a buyout; its the "deferred resignation plan". its continuing to get payed as normal while being on Admin leave through to september 30, which is the date they agree to resign by by taking the deal.

A lot of people didn't take the first one solely because we were staring down the barrel of a government shutdown less than a month out from it being offerred.

Its mildly preferable to waiting to get fired at random; for anyone with less than 10 years of federal service, its a hell of a lot better than we'd get in severance (at 3 years, id get just about a paycheck and a half, myself).

I've generally heard it referred to as the "ADHD walk", myself. My hands generally take the worst of it; if anything i feel like I'm a little too spacially aware of the rest of my body

As an american: seriously, cancel it. This is not a safe place. People will be arrested and traumatised for no reason other than having pride-themed accessories. People will be deported for made up reasons, likely deliberately to the wrong places. At best, Europe; at worst... well, y'all have seen the news of a person sent to El Salvador illegally, and they have no desire to even try to get him back.

I am genuinely expecting the US government to pull some fucked up shit in June deliberately because it will be Pride month.
