America has a lot of culture, a worldwide dominant one.
The people there likely live good lives. With a median net wealth of 112k usd, which is higher than any region of the same size in the whole world.
In the EU we have a median net wealth of 77k usd. Adjusting purchasing power this somewhat becomes 114k USD.
So we live somewhat similar lives.
Our countries are post industrialisation. Even china is moving away from being industrialised, good, so that they can finally start breathing air again.
Now it's the turn of India and south east Asia. Afterwards it will be Africa.
Until there's no place left to develop. Until no generation is willing to do these industry jobs. Then we will increase our cost of living to having machines and AI do all of that work while we do services.
But god damn. We already have good fucking lives.

A group of 22k people that can't compete with foreigners moving into their neighborhood.
I don't think they'll be making a big impact.
We have universal healthcare, social housing, free higher education, free guidance for immigrants, ... All here in Belgium. We're wealthier than Greece by a long shot. We have the ability to build a proper trampoline for people.
The thing is though. They receive that help so that they can get proper jobs/self employment and be more than self sustainable. They can start owning capital.
Which is how we sustain our society.
I know more about socialism than most people. I've been talking to socialists for plenty of years.
I've never heard a single one of them talk properly about economics.
They just want a certain end goal, but have no clue how to get there.
