Jesus... Are the prices low due to the interest rate? Or is all property owned by people who can buy cash?

Why would they change their identity if they still think that their god king was right, though?

Fully agreed on the insufferable part.

They'd just find a way to blame the "extreme left liberals" and the "woke mind virus" for the collapse.

When we have a trade war, isn't it normally limited to one or a few countries? We should Stat calling this Trump's World War on Trade.

Nearly 26.6 million people in the U.S. rely on UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual through insured and self-funded plans. In addition, we serve more than 7.5 million people with care and benefits services outside of the United States.

Rather than hundreds to thousands, I'm going to go with thousands to tens of thousands.

I don't think that's the point. The point is that Pete is sharing classified information with someone who doesn't have clearances. "Who knows who she shared it with afterwards" is an indictment of Pete's decision making and criminality, not an indictment of his wife. She could bear some responsibility, though, if she knowingly spread classified information after receiving it. But that is definitely the secondary point here.

I have three quick stories about the westie we had when I was a kid. For context, she was about 16 inches at the shoulders, so a large westy but hardly a large dog.

  1. We were out walking when I was about 12 y/o. She always thought she was the biggest dog in the room. A black lab started barking in what I took to be a threatening way. He charged his buried invisible fence and just yipped as he went through it and his collar shocked him. He charged straight towards us, barking and growling. My little girl ran up under his chest, clamped down with her teeth, and held on, shaking her head like she'd caught a rodent. The lab freaked out, running in circles until he finally shook my dog off, then went barreling back into his yard.

  2. The same westie acted like a cat lot of the time. Very independent and only wanted attention on her terms. When I had my wisdom teeth out and was doped up on pain killers, she just laid with me on the couch for a full day, very out of character for her.

  3. She understood very well when she had done something that she shouldn't. When we'd get home, if she'd gotten into the trash or left us a "present" somewhere (after we left her home along too long), she would strike a very guilty pose and show us where she'd done the bad thing. One day we got home and she was telling us she'd done something wrong. She took me to the bathroom to show me but I couldn't find any evidence of what she'd done. She was upset that I couldn't find it but, eventually, we gave up and went to do something else. The following morning I discovered that she had managed to clamber into the bath tub and left her "present" in the tub. She was a very smart girl, figured out that the tub was the best place for that, and went through the effort of climbing in before doing her business. I brought her to the bathroom to see if she remembered. She started to whine and look guilty again so I told her she was a very good girl and did exactly the right thing. She rarely pooped in the house but, from then on, when she did, she would go do it in the bath tub.

Campaign finance was already an issue before citizens united and super pacs. It's an order of magnitude worse now, but just rolling those back doesn't solve the problem.

I heard an idea that I liked. Give everyone the first $50 of their taxes back as a token usable only as a political donation. That would be more than enough money to swamp the political funding that existed prior to citizens united. I'm not sure how it would stack up now, though, and am too tired at the moment to go figure it out.

FWIW the US is claiming that the researcher had confidential information from Los Alamos National Labs against the terms of his NDA. They claim the researcher admitted to taking the information and attempting to conceal it.

I honestly hope this is the explanation. If we're starting to deny entry to the country simply due to criticisms of domestic policy decisions, we're going down yet another dark path.

Maybe they're saying that they're unsure how to handle potential DUI? Honestly, this article is so poorly written that we can't tell whether they're being whiny or making a legitimate point.

I'm a white guy from a fairly non-diverse city. I was at a grocery store today where a cashier opened up their line to serve me and, I thought, the person behind me. As they were serving me, though, they put up their lane closed sign right in front of the black man behind me. The buy was just trying to purchase some tuna, bread, and peanut butter.

The cashier basically decided to serve me, a middle class white man, but refused to serve the black man behind me. I was so shocked that I didn't say anything. It is possible that I misunderstood the situation but it seemed so blatant.

What should I have done in this situation? Should I have spoken up? Would that have just been more embarrassing for the man who was being discriminated against?

Honestly, I'm still just in shock to see someone treated so poorly when they were simply trying to buy food for themselves. I recognize that means that I'm sheltered but I also feel like I should be able to use my unearned privilege to help others who are being discriminated against.
