It makes a good metaphor for climate change though.

No this one makes sense though. AI is great at being critically misinformed and making terrible decisions. Of all the things they claim AI can do, I think this one is the closest.

He doesn't care about your protests. He literally created a video of himself shitting on them and declaring himself king. It works in functioning democracies, but walking down the street with a sign will not stop a fascist intent on absolute power.

I hadn't heard about that. I stopped using all MS products when I switched to Linux so I haven't had that problem. It doesn't surprise me though.

If only the English language had more options than either:

  • shenanigans
  • tracking, logging, screen capturing, spying, high-jacking user data to Onedrive, resetting basic user settings

shenanigans

That's a really weak word for the tracking, logging, capturing my screen, spying, high-jacking my data to Onedrive, resetting my basic settings (default browser, file association choices).

"Shenanigans". Sure.

This is how fascism succeeds. Everyone falls in line and sucks up in the hopes of getting preferential treatment.

People ask "how did the Nazis do what they did?". This is how. This is exactly how.

The very least that Trump and his cultists should teach us is that what is normal and accepted right now can change VERY quickly when a fascist takes over.

Being trans, abortions, same sex marriage, immigrants, anti-regime memes.

It's bad enough having them check your phones at the border crossing. How about your own computer ratting you out?

If the government has a free way to say "nah" when it comes to your rights then you don't actually have rights.

So exactly the same consequences as if they deport you to El Salvador.

The US is waiting to identify boats before blowing them up now?
