Weirdly though it wasn't remotely close to the right answer so I don't think it was floating point malarkey. I always assumed some defect but I guess we'll never know.now I wish I had kept it so I could have sent it to Matt Parker for his calculator reviews

I bought a cheap scientific calculator for math class. When I tried to multiply .5 by .5 it gave a long irrational number instead of .25. then I had to try to explain to the store clerk why that was wrong before they would accept the return

The way quarter and rift sawn are shown, it would be virtually impossible to cut. There's no through-line that a sawblade could actually make.

Stock track is also pretty good (https://stocktrack.ca/?s=ct) and it works for more sites than just canadian tire.

 
 

I've noticed recently that as I'm paging through lemmy in firefox if a video is posted it will start auto-playing with the volume maxed. I don't mind it autoplaying before I get there but it's very annoying to have a page load and suddenly getting blasted with unexpected sound.

Tried our hand at making deep dish pizza for new years. Turned out quite good but I'm no expert so I can't say how accurate it was. I am told the toppings are supposed to all go under the sauce but I couldn't resist putting some pepperoni on top
