I don't about the same repack, but definitely the same program. I ended up installing the one from LRepacks, I trust more in that website, and the file looks cleaner according to virus total.

What caught my attention was the redirect from the Download93 site to another url. But as I said, i don't have the means to try it, I did notice however, in the behaviour tab, it seems the sandboxes didn't detect anything.

I don't know how to examine files that well. But the website threw me off and that's why I wanted to share this.

I wanted to update on the situation. I posted a few days ago about a detection for malware on a software download of Affinity Photo 2. https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/35380042

After some searching, I found a repack on LRepacks. And I wanted to share something. The repack I found on LRepacks only had about 3 detections on VirusTotal, which is pretty much expected honestly.

I wanted to compare this to the downloaded file I tried from a site listed as Download93 on the megathread, I didn't mention this on the previous post because I didn't feel it was necessary.

I suspect something might be wrong with that site.

  • This file got about 30 something detections flagging it as malware. I ended up not running it (thankfully). And while I have no means to try it (as VMs are not working on my pc for some reason), I highly suspect of it being malware.

  • Didn't notice this when I was downloading, but the Download93 link now redirects to "4download[dot]net". Which just throws me off now that I see it.

Has someone else noticed this going on in this website? Again, I have no means right now of proving it's malware. But I wanted to see if somebody else can confirm is something is wrong with that site. So that it can be taken down from the megathread if necessary.

I use Linux too on a secondary computer, and I do find amazing the amount of incredible open-source / free apps you can find. I have started using LibreOffice instead of (pirated) microsoft office because I honestly think it's just better.

But yeah, unfortunately, I haven't been able find a lot of free and open-source programs that can replace what this one does. And I just don't like adobe.

Had never heard of QEMU, would you recommend it over the typical ones like Oracle's? I have also heard of VMWare but honestly I have never used it. I really don't know which one to try

I'm aware of that, I don't feel like installing it honestly. I might look for other downloads later. I suspect it's just the crack because it detected the same from two different downloads on reputable websites on this community.

Honestly I think i should start using vm's to run pirated software, not games, I have never haved problems with those since I'm already pretty experienced when it comes to that, but software has always felt more awkward to install. A VM could help with these situations where I'm not really sure if it's just the crack or actually malware.

I am guessing it's probably just the crack, and the fact that it detected the same from 2 different download on websites with good reputation on this community makes me think it's that.

And yes I did put it on virustotal. The link is on the post. As I said, it detected the same, but still 32 / 62 (or something) went off, I don't really feel like installing it, honestly. I might look into it later

Today I was trying to download Affinity Photo 2 from the websites listed on the megathread, as normally I do exactly that and everything goes just fine.

But when scanning the downloaded files. Windows Defender detected it as hacktool.win32.keygen and malwarebytes as Generic.Malware.AI.DDS.

In the case of Windows, I am guessing that it is not detecting a virus but the actual crack right? That's what that means as far as I'm aware. But what surprised me was malwarebytes, it has sometimes warned about cracks but it's not something it does often, and I don't recognize the detection code, but it seems to be using AI to detect malware now?

Is this something that is known to happen? Malwarebytes AI seems to be detecting cracks as malware... Or is this actually a virus?

I put it in quarantine just in case, but I am guessing this has to be false positives, as it happened with 2 different downloads from 2 different websites.

VirusTotal results also flagged it as "malware", but seems to be also detecting the crack. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/127540f7b3558a94f6e8a4ce9c695231e8715e20a17da4584d5df99035a79d49/detection

Hey folks! I just bough the Honor 200 from Aliexpress, and waiting for it to arrive. Greatest deal of my life, honestly, Honor 200 for 280€ seems like a steal.

So, while I wait, I have been looking for cases and screen protectors. I wanted to ask you if you would recommend specific cases or protectors.

I am probably going to get hydrogel as I have no experience will glass protectors and I am afraid they are just not for me. What I wanted to ask is if there are types, or different qualities of hydrogel that will protect the phone better, or do I just get whatever I find?

And second, any recommendation on how can I know if a case will be durable and realiable?

Great, thank you. So you just add them to the steam library, that's what I suspected honestly. Where can you find the option to show in VR library?

Pirating VR games (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

I am buying a VR Headset to play games. I don't know if I'll buy a standalone or PCVR headset, but if I were to buy a standalone like the Meta Quest 3, having the possiblity of connecting to PC is a must.

I was wondering though how can you actually play pirated VR games. Does it work the same way as normal games where you just execute it and that's it? I am asking mainly because of platforms like SteamVR, which some reviews on VR headsets I have watched make it seem like it is a mandatory thing to have if you want to play games, but playing pirated games is something else entirely.

Hey. I was just looking for curiosity the official china xiaomi store. And I saw the Redmi Note 13 Pro+, it seems to be a great phone with 12gb of RAM and 512GB of storage, 200MP camera (I know that doesn't determine how good the photos will be) for just 2099 yuans which is approximately 250€, and I was wondering, is it even possible to buy this china only phones for such a great price and import them to europe?

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is actually more "westernized" than the rest of the K70 series (the name that it recieves in china) as it even has a western name and I swear I have seen youtube channels who have this phone. (Though if this is doable and someone wants to try, if you look at the K70 Pro you will see an option for 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for 4099 yuans which is an amazing price for those specs).

I know aliexpress exists and I was able to find the phone but for prices a bit higher and the best price I was able to find was on alibaba for around 210€, I would consider buying on aliexpress but unless someone convinces me of the contrary I wouldn't buy on Alibaba.

I recently started playing cyberpunk, I downloaded it from dodi and now i've noticed in one month or so, cyberpunk will receive a major update so I will need to reinstall the game with the update. How can I keep my save?
