Exactly what I was thinking. Regardless of what one thinks about AI, it seems to me that only a long series of really bad a decisions could lead to something like this happening.

That's great. It's just too bad that you're tilting at windmills because nowehere does the OP claim that they support assassinations or happy that someone assassinated Kirk (or anyone else for that matter).
It's clearly a sanctamonious fantasy you made up to feel superior and good about yourself.
We don't know and we won't find out.
The good thing about it is you don't need to read past the first few words. Which saves us all a lot of time and effort in the long-run. A weird sort of way, it's honest (albeit impulsive) discourse. Most people nowadays seem to hide what they really mean behind double-speak.
The bad thing is reading the rest of their comments makes me actually worried. We've all been in a bad place in our heads and some of us know just how f***ed up it can get.
So if know why, then why ask why in the first place?
