Meanwhile, I still keep confusing him with Ben Shapiro.

[–] FatVegan@leminal.space 8 points 13 hours ago

Ben talks funnier, while charlie had a funnier head

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 20 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

He deserved it. His legacy is shit and garbage because his life was shit and garbage.

[–] JennaR8r@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 13 hours ago

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who'd never heard of him before he died.

[–] tomkatt@lemmy.world 14 points 21 hours ago

Demoralizing? Knowing that absolute shit people will always be remembered as absolute shit people is heartening.

[–] BillCheddar@lemmy.world 10 points 22 hours ago

I'm supposed to give a shit that some fascist propagandist died?

Bring his widow here and i'll laugh in one of her two faces.

[–] Godric@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago
[–] JennyLaFae@lemmy.blahaj.zone 32 points 1 day ago

He wasn't even a believer in the shit he was peddling, just a talking head paid by grifters.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Wait why is it sinister and demoralizing? I find it a laugh. Also he’s been fucking canonized by the other side so cry me a damn river.

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

They killed him so I mean…

[–] hperrin@lemmy.ca 6 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

That’s ok. He himself said it’s worth it to have the second amendment. If he could be, I’m sure he’d be happy about it.

A tear runs down Kirk's cheek as he looks up at us.

[–] scarabic@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

He was an evil fuck who had it coming, among other reasons for preaching about the virtues of guns.

[–] AnchoriteMagus@lemmy.world 179 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Couldn't have happened to a bigger piece of shit.

Now we just gotta keep the ball rolling and erase the lifetime achievements of everyone else on the Far Right.

Very inspirational tweet. Thanks for the pick-me-up, OP.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 121 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I mean his death couldn't have been more memable. He literally got shot at a school by a white kid. While talking about school shootings, trying to shift the focus onto black gangs, standing under a prove me wrong tent.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 12 hours ago

Well if you put it that way...

[–] Denjin@feddit.uk 67 points 2 days ago (8 children)

Got shot at a school, by a white kid for being not racist enough

[–] joelfromaus@aussie.zone 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Ah, the land of the free. Where you might get shot by a racist for not being racist OR shot by a super-racist for only being normal racist.

Trump just needs to die on the crapper to cement his legacy.

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (3 children)

I need it to be so much more televised. I need him to just stop talking mid-sentence, fall over, and shit himself all on live TV. So far ive only gotten 1/3 of that.

What this guy is missing is that, prior to Kirk's death, no one outside a very small circle of campus conservatives gave a shit about him. He was that random dude who featured in those TPUSA memes about "if you're so x, why don't you y".

And now everybody's talking about him.

It's not just leftist mockery that's turned up to 11. I live in a college town. I see posters advertising TPUSA and College Republican meetings all the time. Campus chaplains are still opening Sunday sermons with moments of silence for Charlie. The fucking recruiters are using Kirk to convince kids to enlist.

Conservative college students used to stay quiet. Now they're loud and proud - even louder and louder than the liberal students - and it's because of Kirk.

And of course conservatives are going full Sunni/Shiite split quoting Kirk (in and out of context) to claim that he would support or oppose the Third Gulf War. He's like the mirror universe MLK - his memory is so powerful that conservatives are fighting over who gets to claim it.

And I've seen more memes about Kirk in the last few months than I did in his entire lifetime, and that's not a good thing if you think he's a shitty cryptofascist who should disappear into the same unmarked grave they dumped Rush Limbaugh into.

First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. How does that go?

The fact that everybody on the left is making fun of Kirk - and everybody on the right is trying to claim him for their own - is really, really bad, because it shows he's far more influential and powerful and dangerous dead than he ever was alive.

And the fact that literal fascist Nick fucking Fuentes has emerged as the heir apparent to Charlie Kirk and the thought leader of young Republican men nationwide should terrify everyone.

Still rather miraculous. Is there even a scar?

[–] zbyte64@awful.systems 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I saw one of his heads which seemed to have a fatal wound, but his fatal wound was healed; and the entire earth followed after the beast in amazement.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 2 points 12 hours ago

Chilling...

If any man have an ear, let him hear.

He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

more:

Secretary of War:

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

AI slop:

And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

For anyone unfamiliar, "mark" was the meaning of the Hebrew word "Tau," a homonym for the pronunciation of the letter corresponding to the Greek Ταυ or English T...

Ironically, the same book also discusses the "elect" being marked with a Tau to identify them for salvation. It reflects the two versions of christianity competing in america: one that preaches hate and one that preaches love, but both wear the same cross...

Nope. It looks like he never actually was injured. Almost as if it was a lie.

The ONE TIME in his life where he finally leaned left on the topic of gun violence. So inspiring!

That’s what should happen to people who simp for the Fourth Reich.

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 12 points 2 days ago (5 children)

The public mocking or ... the other thing?

He was a joke way before that

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yep. Huge head, tiny face, running Toilet Paper USA.

[–] kurmudgeon@lemmy.world 21 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Oh, please. That asshole got exactly what he asked for. And after he was gone, his wife showed exactly what she is: a spineless, petty, money-grubbing whore.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 9 points 1 day ago

He said, to paraphrase because i don't remember exactly what he said, that a few gun deaths is fine as long as they keep their 2A rights. Serves him right. ironic as fuck.

[–] FartMaster69@lemmy.dbzer0.com 19 points 2 days ago

He was a tiny faced meme in life too.

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 days ago

There's something incredibly satisfying and encouraging about this, like watching a viper's leaden soul being weighed by Anubis and devoured by Ammit in real time.

[–] rozodru@piefed.world 12 points 2 days ago

it's telling that she's more pissed off over been mocked by a black guy than the death of her husband.
