It seems to be getting slower and slower and has even been off-line a couple of times. I've been there 16 years but am getting pretty close to completely bailing out.

I think after Biden and then Trump, people will be completely fed up with old white guys. I seriously doubt even Santa Claus could get elected. I'm in my 60s and a huge Bernie fan but we need some younger people on the ticket.

I got permanently banned from the food stamps sub by talking about Trump's crappy economic policies

You could always invest in the European defense industry, rather than US stocks https://i.imgur.com/cUpqyJo.png . In any case I'm not looking forward to the US becoming Russia 2.0.

One thing that concerns me that not many people have talked about is what's going to happen to the US dollar as the world's reserve currency? More and more countries want nothing to do with us and while the US dollar has a huge edge over any other currency, the US becoming a pariah is probably going to impact that.

That's like CNN saying, "orange man bad". They were sanewashing Trump's BS the whole time.

I have family and friends in California. They all thought Feinstein was way too freaking old.

She going to be another Feinstein?

I'm pretty sure it's just another distraction and nothing more. Plus, he's already pretty much a babbling idiot, he'll likely be a vegetable in four years.

There really wasn't much online in the 80s, other than a lot of archives. After the invention of HTML and subsequently, the World Wide Web it became a lot more user-friendly and also got filled with a lot of garbage. After 2010 or so is when enshitiffication went into overdrive.

The Roman Empire took centuries to eventually collapse and a lot of it was corruption, hyperinflation, and complacency. It's happening here but at a much quicker rate.

Naturally, that's what any vile and absolutely terrible Lemmy user would say

I guess I should have been more careful about where I was spouting off anti-GOP rhetoric. Oh well, I was getting ready to bail on Reddit anyway.
