The water dripping down the chin is definitely a standout! Great improvement :)

I think you have most of the elements in place and it looks pretty good already.

If you want advice on how you could improve it... I just sketched this, each drop should have lighting similar to this. Sharp bright white reflection of where the light is hitting it at the top, directly under that, (still at the top) you have a subtle blurry shadow. At the bottom you have a blurry subtle highlight, then under you have the shadow being cast by the drop.

All of those elements will look different depending on the size/shape/angle of the drop, angle of the lighting, whether a shadow would block lighting etc.

Look at lots of reference images to compare different conditions to get an idea of how the light in the drops behaves :)

I just read this which I found very interesting and full of extra context

Yeah I agree, I even think nintendo's has a bigger nostalgia market with parents who will buy it for their kids.

I think a lot (or at least a lot of the more vocal) older fans will realise that a ground up remake isn't going to hit the same mark gameplay wise, a mixed bag no matter what for a game with a cult following like oot

What you're doing is great! A lot of character comes through which is often what people have to work the hardest on. It's great practice to follow through on completing works multiple times, and then improving incrementally after each one rather than getting individual elements absolutely perfect.

I know you already mentioned you didn't check a reference but if you do in the future I find that referring to a skeleton will give a different perspective and help give you ideas of how things can and cannot move, but you might already have known that :)

I just finished too! Nowhere near 100%, as I was reaching the end I felt pretty OP so decided I would go completionist in NG+.

Probably my favourite game released in the last couple of years though, chefs kiss

I don't see a lot here in Australia so it felt pretty novel

I tried making more small talk with strangers, almost all of the time the other person was receptive and it was lovely.

Every now and then, and this is maybe like 1 in 20, the other person didn't seem happy about it. That didn't inspire confidence, but I have kept going. Causing someone to have a slightly awkward experience is nothing to lose sleep over, it's just a part of life. Do it

Soy sauce would work like an ink. Here's a picture of watercolour inks, each column is one ink, with each row representing how much ink is soaked in.

That's why I had to set it free into the fediverse
