Agreed, but lets be real, none of them would ever set foot in a publicly available health institution. All high-end private care for the rich while we get to pay out the nose for band-aids and autism tablets.

Sounds like a win by default for the plaintiffs, if I were the judge. Somehow, I doubt it will go that way, or that easily, but in a sane or just world, any destruction of evidence, whether purposefully or by negligence (by not having the information backed up in duplicate), is a straight-up tacit admission of guilt.

Same. No way I could let that slide. I'm almost more upset that no one else in that room had the dignity to stand up on her behalf. At a certain point, the job can get fucked in favor of principals. There's some things you don't compromise on or justify your way out of.

It's right around the time that you realize your parents were just doing the best they could and didn't know how to "adult" either that you start to understand that you're destined to do the same thing. We're all just making it up as we go and hoping to do better than the previous generation. Generation after generation built upon the knowledge of iteration.

So yeah, mentally, I don't feel significantly different than I have at any other time in the past twenty years, aside from knowledge and experience, but I also realize that I'm viewed significantly different by others, so you kind of have to act the part and fake it till you make it.

those in opposition believe the bills will cause pressure on jails to increase compensation for other incarcerated labor. Is it time for full incarceration labor reform?

Oh no! We have to increase our wages literally above that of slave wages. What ever shall we do in this multi-billion dollar industry?

I have negative sympathy for these fucks. I worked for $0.30 and $0.45 per hour for a few years, just to give them it all back at the commissary.

It would only take one time and he would crawl back into his weasel hole.

I agree, but my ratio looks more like 85/15 at best. It's just unconscionable.

Lol. All you can do is laugh to keep from crying at this point. We are so far past the point of absurdity that this whole country feels like a fucking fever dream.

I feel like you're purposefully ignoring everything that's being said. I understand what you're saying, but it isn't applicable in this case. It's just a PC man. A Linux based PC. There's nothing mandatory about using steams services on the hardware, nor given the announced architecture, could they enforce such a requirement.

Linux ≠ Android. One is open source, the other is not. And to add, it's pointless to discuss what might happen on a theoretical piece of hardware multiple generations away. You might as well argue that Windows will go open source in 2035 based on the fact consumers never pay for it for home use.

[–] PKscope@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago

I couldn't imagine having that happen. I would leave so fast, but not before telling them what a waste of fucking time this had been.

Homie you're having a completely different argument than the rest of us. It's been explained to you like 3 different ways now. Not sure what else to tell you, so yeah. Believe what you want to believe, big dog.

How do you explain piracy being a perfectly viable option to game on this new console? You never need to buy the first game to use this machine effectively.

You're not seeing the forest for the trees. Just because other game distribution vectors lack market share does not mean there are no alternatives to Steam. People have options, but they overwhelmingly choose Steam based on the quality of their product and service. If others decide to improve those things or a particular game is better priced or contains more content on another service, the consumer is free to choose that distributor.

Market share is completely irrelevant in this case.

Just thought I could get a discussion thread going. What is everyone playing lately?

I just finished playing Metal Gear Solid Delta, it was great! I decided to play through the series finally after years of watching video essays on the game, and I'm glad I did! I played Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Subsistence through emulation (4k HD for the win!) It was a great experience and I can see why the series is so highly venerated. It holds up remarkably well, and the long cut scenes were really enjoyable. I thought it would be annoying, but I actually found myself looking forward to them. Delta was like jumping forward in time 30 years, but still extremely fun. I'm glad they stayed so close to the source material so I could just play the new release instead of booting up Snake Eater through emulation.

Now if I could just play IV without a PS3, that would be awesome. I might have to try emulation on that, but from what I read, the experience isn't great.

Regardless, now I'm replaying Max Payne 3. This game IS SO FREAKING GOOD. I had forgotten how good it is. The noir narration is just amazing. The gameplay is tight as a snare drum. The art style and visuals are still amazing even when compared to modern games. Rockstar really knocked this game out of the park. I still haven't played Max Payne 1 or 2, and maybe I should. Also, I found out that one of the bands I've recently discovered and have been listening to like crazy, Health, did the score for Max Payne 3. The music is fantastic. If you haven't played it, I highly recommend giving it a go.

Other than those games, I plan to play through The Last of Us 1 for the first time soon. Not sure how "retro" it is, but I think it is borderline given the original release date and hardware. Looking forward to trying it for the first time. I've never had Sony consoles, so I've missed out on a ton of first-party Sony games over the years. Trying to make up for that by playing modern PC releases and through emulation.

So yeah, what do ya'll have going on right now? What do you recommend playing and why?

This game absolutely blew me away in a number of ways, but above all, the score for this game has been stuck in my head for weeks since completing it.

I can't wait to see what comes next from this ultra-talented studio. Here are some of my favorite tracks from the game. I've used YouTube links rather than Spotify because there are a few songs which they didn't include on the soundtrack which deserve a listen. (Especially the Manor music, that shit slaps!) They said the reason for this is they have "something special planned" for these songs. No idea what that might be yet. Here's hoping for a full 11 minute performance of Une vie à t'aimer!

Here are some of my favorites. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
