Pretty sure there's surveillance video of a guy in Boston forgetting his backpack in 2013. Minutes later, three people were dead and hundreds injured in the Boston Marathon bombing.

It's Indianapolis. I knew it from the thumbnail and I haven't been to the Midwest in decades. Weird.

Let’s hope so!

The crisis isn't "Too many dockless bikes." The crisis is "Not enough docks for all the bikes." Sacrifice a couple car parking spots and put in parking for all these bikes and more.

The one that stuck with me the most was one I heard a long time ago:

You will know the pain of discipline, or the pain of regret.

Unfortunately, I never became disciplined, but now that I'm old and full of regrets at least I know it was right.

Yeah, it's funny like when people say "Jumbo shrimp is an oxymoron." Like, ha ha, yeah, shrimp can also mean small person, but the animals called shrimp come in different sizes, so we need size words if we want to classify them. So it's not in fact a contradiction, but it's a really funny joke. Same thing here.

I'm glad at least seven people had the courage to speak up. No Republicans, though. That's weird, to hear them tell it they are supposed to be "tough on China."

The most cogent and incisive description of the KMT's about-face on alignment with China I've read. It's humorous to see the author's qualifications to write about this matter summed up as "Lee Min-yung is a poet."

I hope it wins. This film was SO good!

Let's be careful out there!

This looks really interesting. And I can't help thinking there's a certain poetic justice to showing films about human rights, in Taiwanese no less, in the memorial for the dictator who slaughtered thousands and tried to crush Taiwanese identity. 😉
