Giving people money is not how this works.

Giving companies money is the game.

When I pass the Macdonaldtown train station, I always thought to myself it's like they made a mistake and built the station in the wrong spot, but couldn't admit the mistake and had to leave it there...

This is stupid

Will he recompense those investors if NVDA doubles? No. He's just pretending to be a genius with everyone elses money.

Anybody can cry wolf at why things will go bad or continue to grow. Only fools try and time market tops and bottoms.

And there was no mention of AUD/USD/EUR. How can you talk about anything international without FX rates? Super funds rarely hedge their 'default' choices. But it's your money, so why care?

Can we treat these nuts like fruit or wood and catch them at immigration before they enter the country?

Surely they wouldn't be able to resist a question like "I have been immunized against measles: Yes/No/Immunization would give me autism"

"Which one of you put one of those squeaky balls on the couch? It's not fun--

Oh, no!"

I propose we call this the "Mutual Australia-Nippon General Agreement"

or MANGA for short.

Looks like the Ranger ran the red light, based on the traffic lights and other cars being in the intersection.

Who would be surprised?

All the best to you and yours.

More than a third of the nation's 11,000 citizens applied for the new climate visa — a deal forged between the two countries to preserve Tuvaluan culture as the atolls disappear.

The intake is capped at 280 visas annually to prevent a brain drain from the tiny island nation.

With the ban going into effect, I thought it might be helpful to allow people to share their experiences about the Australian teen social media ban and how it has affected them.

Note: For the Aussie Zone lemmy requirements, see here. Please use that thread for an Aussie Zone specific discussions or questions.

Good luck, everyone!

"What the public doesn’t know is that the fundamental assumption of radiation safety and regulation simply isn’t true. This is the case against Linear No-Threshold."

I found this video getting more interesting the further it went on. No relationship between cancer and radiation? And cancer rates go down for those with radiation exposure? You may be radiation deficient?

  • Dozens of "Ghost Shark" autonomous submarines to be produced in Australia from next year
  • Co-developed by Royal Australian Navy and Anduril
  • Capable of surveillance, strike missions over long distances

Surprised at how cheap these things are compared to our imaginary ~~non-nuclear~~ ~~nuclear~~ whatever we can get subs from ~~France~~ ~~USA~~ who the hell knows in ~~10 years~~ ~~25 years~~ whenever

Also, I wonder if they can attach a laser so we can have our Ghost Sharks with frickin' laser beams.

Noticed this as I drove past the other day. A crow getting stuck into a bin, with a cocky standing by watching. Crow hasn't worked out that blue is the paper recycling bin. Yet.

Clearly, the bin chickens have been on a recruitment drive.

Apologies for the potato quality. It's a cap from a dashcam while it was raining in low light.

Congrats to Caitlin Foord, Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney Cross for being part of Arsenal's win over Barcelona to take out the Women's Champion League.

Great effort from the underdogs!

Also, always great to see Aussies playing in big games and big leagues, because it bodes well for our national team.

I am genuinely sad that I keep being reminded of:

"The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which"
