No they do it to avoid being sued by litigious gangs full of murderous thugs.

I want to ascend up the social ladder to the point that my crimes get passive voiced.

Any tips?

Illegally obtained evidence can be admitted to court if it is decided that it's more important that it be admitted than not. For example if I illegally record you admitting to being a serial killer to me, this is likely to be admitted since murdering lots of people is a much more serious crime than illegal recording. See 138 Discretion to exclude improperly or illegally obtained evidence in https://www.legislation.gov.au/C2004A04858/latest/text

Police are limited in how they obtain evidence. If I'm squatting on your farm and I see you bury a body you better believe that my testimony can be used as evidence lmao.

The activists will be prosecuted separately if their identities are discovered, and their lives will be destroyed in the interest of protecting the meat industry and preventing people who eat meat learning the necessary abuses.

This isn't unique, hence ag gag laws. Go vegan, it's actually really easy.

I haven't had much time for it but it's fun. Coax your brain, it's good to have people to learn with.

  1. Bobotie (SA casserole) was a big hit at a family gathering.

  2. Idk if trying to unfuck my arms is a hobby but the keyboard is coming along. One side nearly done, the other keycap set is printed but it still needs the microcontroller wired in.

Other than that learning gamedev in my free time.

Bute is a shining example of the failures of drug policy. GHB is, aside from having a low therapeutic index and being contraindicated with alcohol, not very dangerous as far as drugs go. In a better context, especially one in which concentrations were known and manufacture required the addition of say a dye and a bitterant to help prevent date rape it would have been much less harmful.

Bute (which is metabolised to ghb) is diverted from industrial sources, which increases risk of contam. The metabolic delay causes people to redose and then OD, and it's harder on the body because of liver metabolism. Because of it's valid use in industry in large quantities it's almost impossible to control.

Yay, good work. Such winning. Saving so many lives. I love ODs and organised crime.

exhausting your vote might be bad depending on your seat.

Also be careful with some minors. There are a lot that are essentially just the LNP or worse.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago

Yeah I've seen him called that and I enjoy copying it. To be fair to him, which is easy since there's so little to defend, he's not a Nazi. He is a racist fascist though, so we're wading into the phylogeny of idiot ideologies for evil morons to mark out the differences.

Dirty to pull this out now. If it works, if there really is a smoking gun then this is masterful politicking. If it backfires it'll be another classic second term labor foot-gun.

The LNP under "90s Queensland police are too kind and understanding to aboriginal kids" kipfler can't be handed the reigns of government. Australia will take decades to recover if it ever does.

e You're fine, it's practice.

Some of those wires are quite thick which will pull heat away fast making soldering with shitty equipment hard. A good soldering iron* set to the correct temperature will help massively. Flux gets you then last 20% of the way. Most solders are flux cored, but a little pot of rosin flux you either dip the end of a wire in or dab on (i use a sharpened chop stick because no static and cheap) and suddenly the solder flows like water.

Remember not to heat the solder and instead heat the joint. My favoured technique is to "tin" both sides individually and then put then against each other and a quick touch with the iron to make the joint. Ensures you have good contact and doesn't require growing extra fingers although it is slower.

Hobbiest electronics don't need perfection, some failure is fine you can always repair it since you made it.

Never be embarressed to learn a new skill!

  • don't worry about crazy expensive name brands tbh, there's some pretty great stuff coming out of China quite affordably if you're willing to trawl through reviews. Not the bottom dollar stuff but usually about ~30% cheaper than the Japanese brands or Weller

edit: here's my impatient soldering of the last couple of days:

Some of the joints are garbage (had to rewire some, lost patience) but if you look at the joints in the foreground you can see how much neater tinning each side and joining can be.

Hi, Aussie here. Entirely expected and unsurprising. I mean Hitler learned from the USA.

Been watching the usa destroy everything nice about Australia for my entire life and waiting for the other shoe to drop. Good luck, please don't our government again if we elect another socialist.

Yeah that's where I'm at. Finding the time to read fiction while I was alert enough to really chew on it had been hard. There's a million and one things to do around the house that need my hands more than my brain though so it's when I get my self indulgent fantasy nonsense in :D

If they want to read a silly series about "bonermancy" (immature brain rot drenched necromancy) written by a pretty funny and well educated woman the Ninth Tomb is decent. Some bits drag but come on, you've got to admire someone that writes a series going through the different grammatical persons just for the hell of it. That's china Mieville levels of madness.

Alas her brain seems to have been damaged by covid and she's having a hard time finishing it :(

So I had a stickybeak at their questions and holy shit they're so bad. Such naked propaganda and also hilariously wrong.

If minorities sat by and patiently explained their needs to the majority we'd be fucked hahahahahaha.

Also apparently the gov does aid because their weird lizard people in Parliament's hearts bleed rivers of gold at the suffering of the people they constantly stir racism up against.

Lets be real though, propaganda aside it's actually disasterous that people are failing to understand how power is wielded in Australia. If the overwhelming arm of USA propaganda replaces an understanding of how our government works with how theirs doesn't we will perform into being a broken 2 party system nobody trusts.

Say what you will about Parliament (and indeed I will rant till your fucking ears bleed if you let me) but we have the benefit of an extremely robust and effective civil service which does a lot of unnoticed good. It's far from perfect but we need a citizenry that understands how things work and why if essential crap is to remain unmolested by creepy potato shaped facists and their ilk. People need to know how to engage with power, where to put the screws to, who controls what and what legal options there are for wielding influence.

Alternative title: Around half of all Australians are brainwashed ghouls 😬

Almost a third supported deporting asylum seekers to their country of origin, regardless of the risk of persecution or violence, while 42% opposed it somewhat or strongly.

The polling also showed voters felt strongly about punitive measures for those in immigration detention, with 50% backing powers to conduct more invasive searches compared with 22% against the measure.

The control group supported offshore detention at 51% while 24% opposed. Support dropped marginally to 49% and 50% after messages against offshore detention, while the group exposed to pro-offshore detention increased to 57% support.

😬😬😬

And the work nobody shows lol

From this book: https://theeburgerdude.com/cookbook/

I am not very good at deep frying, and made some mistakes. Probably I could do these in my oven pretty well. Magnificent spicing to the batter, never paying for overpriced and bland nuggets again.

In that it was an effort by horrible people to degrade the human condition with no respect for the harm caused along the way sure.

Lmfao how the hell do we have the cult of musk sniffing in Australian politics?

Seitanic rituals (vegantheoryclub.org)

Doing 3 (one offscreen) different approaches to chickeny seitan. This is using vital wheat gluten vs washing.

One is just gluten and water, wrapped into spirals Chinese style.

One is braided, adding some ACV based on this washed recipe. The gluten seems underdeveloped here, it should be smooth. I think I need to be careful mixing it instead of just a quick stir.

And one is just the seitan part of this 'tender' recipe which I'll taste a small bit of before battering for other experiments.

Previously I've noted that washed flour tastes fine but VWG tastes bitter. Alledgedly ACV improves? Spirals will test without ACV but with washing/soaking.

Will update in a couple of days with results.

Letting it build to 2 kg is kinda ridiculous though.

No added sugar in this one, just some dates for sweetness.

I thought this article was interesting, in that I am immediately suspicious of the motives of some of people quoted. The conclusion runs counter to what I want to be true, and I'm curious what other people make of it.

Also men: Do you actually feel attacked? I'm not sure I've ever seen someone criticised for like being strong and capable, or a good carpenter, or a protective dad or whatever. Is this a real thing? or just something that is used as cover like the traditional values vs violent misogyny terminology.

P.S. Thinking there are hordes of ravenous cancellers waiting in the wings is extremely funny to me. Not exactly beating the allegations that listening to Jo Rogan damages your perception of reality.

I have been gardening this block for 5 years, not an enormous time, but I don't use animal products to fertilise I just use compost/mulching/weed tea/and cover crops.

Everything seems fine. Yet every gardening show or whatever will be like "slather that manure and blood and bone on each year, use fish emulsion, fucking sacrifice your firstborn on that shit". Am I an idiot or do you just not need to do any of that?

edit: not looking for the peanut gallery. Interested in opinions from people who don't use animal products and what their experience has been.
