Federal prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, he confirmed on Sunday evening.

Powell said the probe was the result of the Fed “setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than following the preferences of” President Donald Trump.

Terrible precedent that will harm our economy's ability to recover from high unemployment or inflation.

A judge will have to sign off on the proposed settlement, which calls for the Education Department to not enroll any new borrowers in the plan, deny any pending applications and move all SAVE borrowers into other repayment plans.

The Education Department said that more than 7 million people are enrolled in the plan and that it will begin outreach to affected borrowers in the coming weeks with guidance about how to repay their loans.

The serfdom will continue, until moral improves.

Protesters nationwide are gathering at more that 2,500 locations today to rally against President Donald Trump in what organizers predict will be the largest one-day protest in modern American history.

The protests are meant as a celebration of free speech, the right to assemble and the First Amendment broadly, according to organizers. They say they also want to push back against recent moves by the Trump administration, including ramped-up immigration enforcement, sending troops into a handful of Democrat-controlled cities, making massive changes to American health care and eroding First Amendment rights, organizers say.

A federal grand jury in Virginia has indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on one count of bank fraud, after steady pressure from President Trump to prosecute one of his longtime political foes.

The indictment was confirmed by a source who was not authorized to discuss the charge publicly.

Federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of Virginia spent months on the case this year. A Republican career prosecutor there determined there was not enough evidence to bring a case against James. Then he was forced out of his job by the White House, only to be replaced by Lindsey Halligan, a former insurance lawyer in Florida with no experience as a prosecutor.

Now, the nonprofit syndicator American Public Television (APT) is auctioning off 30 of Ross' paintings to raise money for public broadcasters hit by federal funding cuts. APT has pledged to direct 100% of its net sales proceeds to APT and PBS stations nationwide, auction house Bonhams said in a statement.

The inclusion of overtly political messages in federal agency communications raised immediate alarm bells for some federal workers and ethics experts. They said it could violate the Hatch Act, which prohibits civil servants in the executive branch from engaging in most political activity inside federal buildings or while on duty.
