What community would be more appropriate? I'm pretty loose with fediverse communities. I'd rather throw more content up even if it's not the best fit just to give Lemmy more content and this post got a shitton of interaction

Not a parent but I read this and have my personal opinions, curious what others think about it.

I am fairly new to networking but that sounds correct with my thinking. I'm actually after a super similar setup. I got a router that can easily handle 1gb internet which is the best I can get anyway. The router I got has 5 gb ports, I'll use that for my actual Internet connections. On my homelab network side I'm just going to use that 4 port 10gb Switch for communication between the nodes themselves which is where I care/need faster transfer speeds. If/when I use all those ports I'll upgrade the switch.

Have you checked out mikrotik? I'm not sure if you can flash to them, but they come with routeros a linux kernal based os mikrotik developed. It's insanely customizable and feature rich. They are starting to dip toes in enterprise gear as well. Not sure about switches that size but I got a 4 port 10gb MGBASE-t switch with a dual arm chip and a 1gb poe management port. Has the routeros license too( all hardware comes with a license for routeros in perpetuity) all for $190.

I love the "but it pays for schools" argument, like how about we drop 3 less bombs per year and just pay for all the schools out of the existing tax pool like it should be.

You can't absolve Biden's part in this though, if his administration hadn't hid how he was just not in a condition for another years of the presidency (I believe even Biden has admitted this now) then an actual primary could have happened. Instead it was swept under the rug until the last second, then they scrambled to get a non-geriatric candidate that was a good pick for the situation but wasn't picked by voters.

Quantitative analysis flashbacks form this, I learned the fastest way to figure out how much reactant you need to figure out the tipping point of the ph was to just run quickly adding large jumps of aloquates on the first attempt ,let it turn dark, then on the next one go ahead and add a safe amount of reactant I found from the first attempt then go super slow with the drip rate after. Was pretty consistently one of the first to leave lab

Immutable Distro Opinions (www.linuxfordevices.com)

I recently took up Bazzite from mint and I love it! After using it for a few days I found out it was an immutable distro, after looking into what that is I thought it was a great idea. I love the idea of getting a fresh image for every update, I think for businesses/ less tech savvy people it adds another layer of protection from self harm because you can't mess with the root without extra steps.

For anyone who isn't familiar with immutable distros I attached a picture of mutable vs immutable, I don't want to describe it because I am still learning.

My question is: what does the community think of it?

Do the downsides outweigh the benefits or vice versa?

Could this help Linux reach more mainstream audiences?

Any other input would be appreciated!

I got this 180° adapter for my Steam Deck and it fits perfectly with a StylthGrip case on using the original charger.

The fit is tight but the charger goes in without any forcing. Couldn't find any info when I searched so I wanted to share.

Any 180° adapter should work so long as it has at least a 13.5mm gap between the two usb c ports.

Verizon is stopping support for message+ and says to just use Google messenger. Fuck that I hate Google, can anyone suggest an app I can use to just text people and send pictures that works on and offline?

You should never support the scumbags at Hasbro/WOTC if you are into tabletop games
