I got the lifetime plan on Black Friday back when it was $0.00 I'm really glad I did that now

on one hand we should not be ascribing personally to next-word-predictors but on the other it can be pretty entertaining when we do

...Remind me what this "industry" actually produces?

lol this is a great example of how humans can post slop too thank you for illustrating

I don't see how slop could kill "the internet", but it is already redefining if not outright killing the big social media platforms. The fediverse is probably safe because instances that allow slop (or struggle to moderate it) would just get defederated same as any other spam/trolls.

Here's the fan film this documentary is about. I tend to enjoy watching many of the fan films that aren't just 90% weird CGI but this one somehow avoided my radar completely.

I can't see what he previous guy wrote but I'm absolutely saving this reaction gif for every interaction I have on Lemmy.

Lower Decks translates to the medium of comics well, "Warp Your Own Way" was phenomenal. Looking forward to this!

Last I checked "Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" did not include electricity!

It sounded like a stretch to me at first, but if you consider that the very concept of intelligence as something quantifiable and measurable (like IQ) implies a linear scale where some (guess which ones) people are simply better.

The funding behind AI comes out of a belief that it can be a tool to control and influence the population. It makes sense that it's origins would be in something similar.
