Depending on the writer, there are three consistent kryptonite types:
Green weakens him, but overall it doesn’t kill him. Strips his powers, makes him faint or just weak and nauseous.
Blue just takes his powers away either temporarily or permanently
Red intoxicates him or enhances his impulsiveness/brashness
There are others, but they kind of shift of just don’t exist in the main canon

I think shifting away from the symbol is important, as there are many negatives associated with it.
Mainly all the negatives perceptions of the USSR and those rapidly overtake the positives that are being reinforced by the rest of the “meme”.

8th amendment concerns protecting you from cruel and unusual punishment. Trump and DHS are actively lying to the American people.
The punishment for violation of the law isn’t immediate death, no matter how much these people and their supporters suggest. You shouldn’t be killed for disobeying ICE.
I’ve seen multiple angles of the video, ICE murdered a woman committing a Y turn to leave a situation. Even if he was in danger of the vehicle running him over, he for one put himself in that position, and then two decided to immediately fire into the face of an unarmed person driving a vehicle. Then they prevented any and all medical aid being rendered.
There is no justification, this was an execution as punishment.
