Go with whatever you want to go, my friend! People are mad because of the politics rather than the software itself (not going to lie, THERE ARE questionable software choices, but it doesn't change the fact that most people didn't even check it)

Looking at what's already been said I will most probably get down voted, but it should only back my words up.
People should be able to write everything they want on the internet. And I should have the right to totally ignore everything they say. So why should I become a snowflake and care about other people's opinion or think a big corporation will moderate somebody out of their platform? ๐ค
I really like that dev is ambitious here and have my fingers crossed ๐ค๐ผ
The more self hosted alternatives we have the better, maybe someday I'll need one ๐
Tried couple of them but still came back to Obsidian with remotely-save (for me it's S3 but doesn't matter) for last 2 years. The sheer simplicity plus the fact that I don't have to synchronize every second (it's only my notes, no collaboration) beats every other solution.
If you'd like an alternative, see Trillium Next (community driven fork) but despite the fact that it's great it doesn't beat my current setup (yet ๐)
Affine is good too, but it is a bit more complicated with the benefit of more features.
I recommend this one instead: https://youtu.be/n1vOfdz5Nm8
Same guy, just fresh version of Traefik ๐
Super interesting, I have my fingers crossed for this one.
Probably gonna give it a go in two-three weeks ;-)
That's true, would be great to have more evidence.
But I really wish this to be True ๐ค
Dunusem? ๐
They are coming your way for sure. Cause I'm not paying a dime ๐
Of course it's them - hateful and aggressive - not understanding you.
Why would it ever be you - knowledgeable, well-informed guy writing nice, respectful posts about them on the internet - not trying to understand them?
Probably better to move out south.
Problem is: non-ethical projects tend to pay more or take advantage of the situation. I know what I mean: when one of my projects fell apart recently I was approached by a "Battlefield Management App" which I could develop, of course for "the good guys"โข.
I chose unemployment because that's not the world I want to develop, but I can totally imagine that in a more dire circumstances (I'm in debt with family to take care of or it's war and I'm running out of money fast) my choice could've been different.
Still, ethics would be good, even if it wouldn't magically save the world ๐ช๐ป
